Linmei Golden Date Cultural Center Introduction
Linmei Village in Jiaoxi Township is known as the Village of Kumquats, where every farmer embodies the rich culture of kumquats. The "kumquat," also known as "Fortunella" or "golden orange," is a fruit characterized by its golden-yellow exterior and sweet-and-sour interior. Its golden hue symbolizes good fortune. This center focuses on kumquats and was established with the guidance of the Council of Agriculture and local agricultural associations. Visitors or schools can schedule tours to learn about kumquats through explanations provided by the owners or staff. The first floor features a sales area where visitors can taste and sample products, and of course, purchase souvenirs. The second floor serves as an exhibition area, where images and texts explain the kumquat processing and the different care methods for each season. When you visit, don’t forget to take home a package of "Kumquat Throat Candy" with the Linmei label, which is a must-try local specialty of Jiaoxi suitable for all ages; it not only soothes the throat but also leaves a memorable taste.
