Zhang Mei Grandma's Farm Introduction
The latest family-friendly attraction in Yilan, "Grandma Zhang's Farm", allows you to get up close with sika deer. It’s about a 5-minute walk from the "Three Star Larch Secret Realm". Currently, there are two sika deer named "Mi Xiang" and "Mi Fu", along with seven adorable fawns named "Yuan Yuan, Yuan Zi, Scallion Pancake, Egg Roll, Mi Tai Mu, Shaved Ice, Onigiri". The fawns are just 3-4 months old, and before May next year, there will be a "Feed Baby Deer Milk Experience" at two times: 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, limited to the first 15 participants for each session. What makes this place unique is the opportunity to experience rural life, where you can pick organic corn leaves or grass to feed the deer. The sika deer are very gentle, and the farm is filled with fawns, making it very suitable for children to interact with. After the activities, you can also taste scallion pancakes made with Yilan's famous Three Star scallions and organic red tea, with an experience fee of NT$150. In addition to the budget-friendly options, you can also participate in various DIY activities offered by the farm, including three-color taro balls, Mi Tai Mu, scallion pancakes, tangyuan (sweet glutinous rice balls), shaped onigiri, bamboo tube rice, rice egg rolls, mochi pounding, and self-harvested organic vegetables, as well as self-picked organic vegetable pizza baked in a kiln. The activities include ecological tours, self-picking of organic ingredients, and are rich in content and fun, delicious and enjoyable. Customized itineraries are available for groups of 30 or more. The farm's agricultural experience activities have been held for seven years, with abundant experience ensuring your satisfaction. "Grandma Zhang's Farm" is located in Three Star Xing Jian Organic Dream Village. Grandma has been the village chief for 20 years in Xing Jian Village. In 2010, she called on farmers to plant organically and established the "Xing Jian Organic Agricultural Production Cooperative." All agricultural products have passed "Compassion Organic Certification." The organic farming area spans around 180 hectares, surrounded by natural barriers including Xing Jian Creek, An Nong Creek, Wan Fu Canal, and Yi Yin Road. With inflow from An Nong Creek and drainage through Xing Jian Creek, it is the most suitable place in Yilan for an organic village. Thanks to Grandma Zhang's efforts, Xing Jian Village has transformed into an organic village, adhering to non-toxic, pesticide-free, and chemical-free organic farming methods for a better living environment and quality of life for the next generation. We welcome everyone to Yilan Three Star to connect with nature, barefoot in the mud to dig for taro & fish, freshly harvested organic vegetables, all tender and delicious. You can also visit the chicken coop and enjoy feeding the deer. In the afternoon, bike along An Nong Creek, with over 200 bald cypress trees creating a shady avenue that changes colors throughout the seasons, all beautiful year-round!
