Zhang Mei Grandma's Farm Introduction
The latest family-friendly attraction in Yilan, "Zhang Mei Grandmother's Farm," offers close encounters with sika deer. It is located about a 5-minute walk from the "Sanchong Layu Pine Secret Realm." Currently, there are two sika deer named "Mi Xiang" and "Mi Fu," along with seven adorable fawns called "Yuan Yuán, Yuán Zǎi, Cōng Yóu Bǐng, Dàn Juǎn, Mǐ Tái Mù, Cuò Bīng, and Fàn Tuán." The fawns are about 3 to 4 months old, and before May next year, there will be a "Baby Deer Feeding Experience," which takes place in two sessions at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, limited to the first fifteen people per session. What makes this farm unique is the opportunity to experience rural life, such as going into the fields to pick organic corn leaves or grass to feed the sika deer. The deer are very gentle, and the farm is filled with fawns, making it an ideal place for children to interact. After the activities, visitors can enjoy scallion pancakes made with Yilan's Sanchong scallions and organic black tea for an experiential fee of 150 TWD. In addition to the basic package, there are various DIY activities available, including making three-color taro balls, rice noodles, scallion pancakes, tangyuan (sweet rice balls), shaped rice balls, bamboo tube rice, rice egg rolls, mochi pounding, and harvesting organic vegetables for wood-fired pizzas. The activities include ecological tours and the picking of organic ingredients, providing a rich and fun experience that is delicious and enjoyable. For groups of 30 or more, customized itineraries can be created. The experience at "Zhang Mei Grandmother's Farm" has been running for seven years, offering a wealth of experience that guarantees satisfaction. "Zhang Mei Grandmother's Farm" is located in the Sanchong Xingjian Organic Dream Village, where Grandma Zhang served as village chief for 20 years. In 2010, she called upon farmers to grow organically and established the "Xingjian Organic Agricultural Production Cooperative," with products certified through "Cixin Organic Certification." The organic farmland covers about 180 hectares, surrounded by natural barriers of Xingjian Creek, Anong Creek, Wanfu Drain, and Yiyin Road, using water from Anong Creek and draining it into Xingjian Creek. This area is the most suitable place in Yilan for creating an organic village. Thanks to Grandma Zhang's efforts, Xingjian Village has become an organic village, insisting on using non-toxic, pesticide-free, and chemical-free organic farming methods, ensuring a good living environment and quality of life for future generations. Everyone is welcome to come to Yilan Sanchong to get close to nature, go barefoot to dig up taro and catch fish, and harvest organic vegetables that are fresh and tender. You can also visit chicken houses and feed the deer. In the afternoon, there will be a cycling trip along Anong Creek, where over 200 dawn redwoods create a shaded avenue that changes colors throughout the seasons, offering beautiful scenery all year round!
