Yilan Sports Park Introduction
Yilan Sports Park is located in Yilan City, adjacent to Provincial Highway 9, covering an area of approximately 27 hectares. It is an open space that combines leisure and sports, featuring a human-centered design that continues the philosophy of the county cultural center without walls. It was the first to pioneer the trend of sports facilities being developed as parks in Taiwan. The park hosted the Taiwan Sports Games in 1992. Visitors can enter the park from any location, but all vehicles, except bicycles, are strictly regulated. The park's landscaping shows different seasonal features: when the cotton trees along the Healthy Road bloom brightly, summer is subtly approaching; the Taiwan acacia emits tender yellow flower clusters, signaling the arrival of autumn; when the vibrant Bauhinia flowers fall to the ground, winter is near; and in spring, the park is lively with blooming flowers everywhere! On regular days, families can enjoy the beauty of exotic flowers and plants, walk, cycle, or fly kites. It also serves as a venue for various sports competitions, where beautiful scenery is bound to inspire outstanding results. For tourists from other cities, Yilan Sports Park is an excellent place to rest during their long journey, allowing them to enjoy the park's atmosphere under blue skies and white clouds while experiencing the lushness of the Lanyang Plain as a "symphony of green and strength." The well-designed space accommodates people of all ages and genders. On regular days, it serves as a great location for leisure activities, while on weekends or holidays, it attracts larger crowds. However, the mess brought by vendors accompanying the crowds has become a concern for the park. After all, having a beautiful sports park is a shared blessing for the community, and we should appreciate and cherish this wonderful place that belongs to the public.
