Yilan Sports Park Introduction
Yilan Sports Park is located in the city of Yilan, adjacent to Provincial Highway 9, covering an area of about 27 hectares. It is an open space that combines leisure and sports, featuring a human-centered design that continues the concept of the county cultural center without walls. It pioneered the trend of turning sports facilities into parks in Taiwan. The 1992 Taiwan Regional Sports Games were held here. People can enter the park from any point; however, all vehicles, except bicycles, are strictly regulated. The park's landscaping changes with the seasons: when the kapok trees along Health Road are filled with vibrant red blossoms, summer is quietly approaching; the Taiwan tallow tree signals autumn with its tender yellow flower clusters; when the beautiful bougainvillea falls to the ground, winter's footsteps are near; and in spring, as flowers bloom everywhere, the park is lively with colors! On weekdays, families can enjoy the beauty of exotic flowers and plants, take walks, ride bicycles, and fly kites. It also serves as a venue for various sports competitions. For tourists from other counties, Yilan Sports Park is a great place to rest during their long journey, allowing them to enjoy the aroma of flowers and the sounds of birds under the blue sky, as well as to stretch their bodies and freely experience the "symphony of green and strength" of the Lanyang Plain.
