Taoyuan's green miracle — a light trip to Hutoushan Park mentions that "Hutoushan Park" is undoubtedly one of the popular recreational spots in Taoyuan. Close to the city yet featuring a landscape reminiscent of a forest secret realm, it is dubbed "the backyard of Taoyuan residents." Spanning 15 hectares, Hutoushan Park is part of the Hutoushan Scenic Area, connecting landmarks such as Sanfen Mountain, the Martyrs' Shrine, and the Ecological Park. The lush forest scenery and well-designed trails allow travelers to easily enjoy the pleasures of being close to the mountains. The nine trails, each distinct, are color-coded, including the Mushroom Pavilion Trail, Cherry Blossom Trail, Ecological Interpretation Trail, and Scenic Health Trail, with each route featuring a unique style suitable for all age groups. The park follows a low-impact development model, preserving natural landforms, making hiking accessible and turning it into a delightful little trip within the city. Owl Forest Classroom: A happy place for kids. The Owl Forest Classroom features unique facilities such as mini treehouses and a sky wooden path, allowing children to explore joyfully and play endlessly! The elevated wooden path weaves through the treetops, protecting the environment while providing fun. Attractions like the Cuckoo House and Tree Reading Classroom become popular photogenic spots for families. Ecological Interpretation Trail: An intellectual stroll in the bamboo forest. After passing through the Jingguo Plum Garden, one enters a tranquil bamboo area where walking along the trail, clusters of bamboo grow on either side, with a variety of species and forms. Informative signs about the plants and ecological environment along the way make it the best route for understanding natural ecology; even in high temperatures, the shaded areas remain cool and comfortable. Sanfen Mountain Scenic Spot: A panoramic view overlooking the city. Departing from the Jingguo Plum Garden, one can reach the Sanfen Mountain Scenic Spot in about twenty minutes. The view of the entire Taoyuan city is broad and refreshing. The observation platform features slogans for morning exercises and fun graphics, adding a nostalgic touch and creating wonderful memories at the summit. Scenic Health Trail: Leisurely moments of strolling down the mountain. The Scenic Health Trail descends from the observation platform and is equipped with rocking chairs, pavilions, and restrooms near the Sun Pavilion, along with drinking fountains, making it the best choice for walk-stop-rest moments while enjoying the views. The trail leads down to San Sheng Road, where going further on San Sheng Road reaches the "Minglun San Sheng Temple." Minglun San Sheng Temple, located at the foot of Hutoushan in Taoyuan, lies below Hutoushan Park, Nankan River, and the Martyrs' Shrine. Originally named Minglun Qianyuan, it houses deities such as Guan Sheng Di Jun, Lu Chunyang Di Jun, and Jiu Tian Si Ming Zhen Jun, known as the "Three Sacred Benefactors." It was later relocated to Hutoushan, housing images of the Three Sacred Benefactors, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and Tiān shàng shèng mǔ, marking its consecration into the temple in the 64th year of the Republic of China and officially renamed Minglun San Sheng Temple. Completed in the 68th year of the Republic of China, Minglun San Sheng Temple embodies the essence of traditional temple culture, displaying a vibrant artistic style. The second floor enshrines Guan Sheng Di Jun, with Fu You Di Jun to the right and Jiu Tian Si Ming Zhen Jun and Guanyin Bodhisattva, Tiān shàng shèng mǔ, Nan, and Bei Dou Xing Jun to the left; the first floor honors the five kings, including Li, Chi, Zhu, and Fan, as well as Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Zhi Nian Tai Sui Xing Jun, and Fude Zhengshen, totaling eight esteemed deities. The temple is bustling with followers. The temple courtyard features a large Nine-Dragon Wall sculpture and a statue of Guan Yu on horseback, with intricate carvings and imposing presence. Three-tier water pond and Cherry Blossom Trail: Surprises all around. Above the barbecue area lies a three-tier water pond where turtles and koi swim, beside which the Cherry Blossom Trail, vibrant even outside of flowering season, is lush with greenery. The edges of the path are adorned with clusters of fiery red ti plant, illuminating the shaded area. Within the Cherry Blossom Trail, there’s a gazebo designed to resemble a bird's nest, suspended high among the trees, making it another must-visit photo spot. In this landscape merging ecology, leisure, and childhood fun, travelers can leisurely embark on an urban green journey, enjoying a close-to-nature experience in the mountains. Hutoushan is just perfect.
