Mentioning popular recreational spots in Taoyuan, "Hutoushan Park" is definitely one of them. Close to the city, yet possessing a forest-like secret, it is known as "the backyard of Taoyuan residents." Covering an area of 15 hectares, Hutoushan Park is part of the Hutoushan Scenic Area, linking landmarks such as Sanfen Mountain, the Memorial for the Martyrs, and ecological areas. The lush mountain scenery and well-designed trails allow travelers to easily enjoy the joys of the mountains. The nine trails are each unique, featuring different colors, including the Mushroom Pavilion Trail, the Cherry Blossom Trail, the Ecological Interpretation Trail, and the Scenic Health Trail, each route offers varying styles suitable for all ages. The Minglun San Sheng Temple in Taoyuan is located at the foot of Hutoushan, adjacent to Hutoushan Park, the Nankan River, and the Memorial for the Martyrs. Originally named Minglun Qianyuan, it enshrines the Three Saints: Guandi, Lü Chao, and Jiutian Xuannu, and was later relocated to Hutoushan. In the year 1975, the statues of the Three Saints, Guanyin, and the Heavenly Mother were enshrined in the temple as a commemorative date, and it was renamed Minglun San Sheng Temple. Completed in 1979, the temple's architecture embodies the essence of traditional temple culture, showcasing a vibrant artistic style. The second floor enshrines Guandi, Fuyou Emperor, Jiutian Xuannu, Guanyin, the Heavenly Mother, and various deities. The first floor honors the Five Lords and Ksitigarbha, along with eight others and has a thriving incense offering with devotees continuously visiting. The temple courtyard features a large Nine Dragon Wall and a statue of Guandi on horseback, intricately carved and grand in presence. The Three-tier Waterfall and Cherry Blossom Trail: Surprises at every turn. The three-tier waterfall above the barbecue area is inhabited by turtles and koi, while the adjacent Cherry Blossom Trail remains lush even outside the blooming season, with vibrant clusters of red and green creating a fiery spectacle along the trail. Within the Cherry Blossom Trail, a pavilion designed like a bird's nest, high among the trees, is also a must-visit photo spot.
