Hutou Mountain Park Introduction
Taoyuan's Green Miracle – A Light Trip to Hutuoshan Park When it comes to popular recreational spots in Taoyuan, Hutuoshan Park is definitely on the list. Close to the city, yet it has a forest-like scenery, earning its reputation as "Taoyuan's backyard." Covering an area of 15 hectares, Hutuoshan Park is part of the Hutuoshan Scenic Area, connecting landmarks such as Sanfen Mountain, the Martyrs' Shrine, and the Ecological Area. The lush mountain forest scenery and well-designed trails allow visitors to easily enjoy nature. There are nine trails, each with its own charm, including the Mushroom Pavilion Trail, Cherry Blossom Trail, Eco-Interpretation Trail, and Scenic Health Trail, distinguished by colors for easy navigation. Each route presents a different style, suitable for all age groups. The park adopts a low-impact development model, preserving the natural landscape and making hiking an accessible mini-adventure within the city. Owl Forest Classroom: A Joyful Place for Kids The Owl Forest Classroom features unique facilities such as a mini treehouse and skywalk, providing endless fun for children to explore! The elevated wooden walkway runs through the treetops, protecting the environment while adding excitement. Attractions like the cuckoo house and tree-reading classroom have become popular spots for family photos. Eco-Interpretation Trail: An Intellectual Stroll through the Bamboo Forest After passing through the Jingguo Plum Garden, visitors enter the tranquil bamboo forest area. Walking along the mountain trail, clusters of bamboo grow on both sides, showcasing various species and forms. Informational plaques about plants and ecological environments line the trail, making this the best route for understanding natural ecology. Even on hot days, the shade beneath the trees remains cool and comfortable. Sanfen Mountain Viewing Platform: A Panoramic View of the City Starting from Jingguo Plum Garden, it takes about twenty minutes to reach the Sanfen Mountain Viewing Platform. The view overlooks the entire Taoyuan urban area, offering a refreshing vista. The viewing platform is adorned with morning exercise slogans and fun patterns, adding a retro feel and creating wonderful memories for visitors. Scenic Health Trail: Relaxation While Descending The Scenic Health Trail descends from the viewing platform, featuring rocking chairs and pavilions along the way. Near the sun pavilion, there are restrooms, and there's a water fountain further down, making it a perfect choice for strolling, resting, and enjoying the scenery. This route leads down to Sanxing Road, where visitors can continue to the "Minglun Sanxing Temple." Minglun Sanxing Temple, located at the foot of Hutuoshan in Taoyuan, overlooks Hutuoshan Park, Nankan River, and the Martyrs' Shrine. Originally named Minglun Qianyuan, it worships the Three Saints, including Guan Sheng Di Jun, Lü Chunyang Di Jun, and Jiutian Sidiming Zhenjun. It was later relocated to Hutuoshan, and in 1975, with the installation of the Three Saints, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the Heavenly Mother statues in the temple, its name was officially changed to Minglun Sanxing Temple. The temple was completed in 1979, inheriting the essence of traditional temple culture, showcasing a vibrant artistic style. The second floor enshrines Guan Sheng Di Jun, with Fu You Di Jun on the right and Jiutian Sidiming Zhenjun, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Heavenly Mother, and the Star Lords of the North and South Dipper on the left; the first floor honors the five imperial gods, including Li, Chi, Zhu, and Fan, as well as Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and other deities, attracting numerous worshippers. A large Nine Dragon Wall sculpture and a statue of Guan Gong are intricately carved, presenting a grand atmosphere. Three-tiered Water Pool and Cherry Blossom Trail: Surprises Everywhere Above the barbecue area is the Three-tiered Water Pool, where turtles and koi swim, and next to it is the Cherry Blossom Trail, which remains lush even outside the blooming season. The edges of the trail are adorned with clusters of vibrant red ti plant, lighting up the forest like flames. Inside the Cherry Blossom Trail, a pavilion designed to resemble a bird's nest is located high up among the trees, making it an unmissable photo opportunity. In this area that combines ecology, leisure, and childlike fun, travelers can leisurely step into a city green travel experience close to nature. Hutuoshan is just right for this.
