Gui Shan Maple Tree Pit Trail Introduction
The Fengshukeng Hiking Trail is one of the many hiking trails in Huotoushan, Taoyuan. The trailhead is located at the bottom of Alley 281, Guangfeng Road, Fengshu Village. After entering, you will first pass through the side gate of Fengshu Elementary School, then continue up the driveway beside Fude Temple to reach the Zhenwu Temple, which is dedicated to the Xuantian Emperor. The serene environment inside the temple makes it a great spot to visit. Next to the temple, a straight wooden stairway marks the start of the Fengshukeng Hiking Trail. Continuing up the wooden stairs and passing through the forest will lead you to a vast area of miscanthus grass. Autumn is the best season to appreciate the miscanthus, as the flowers bloom abundantly, and their graceful white flower spikes are particularly eye-catching, resembling a sea of clouds. This view is considered the most beautiful landscape after the onset of autumn. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, miscanthus is a pioneering plant that thrives in sunny, exposed areas, helping to protect the soil and prevent landslides from rain and wind. After leaving the swaying miscanthus, the Gushan No. 6 Pavilion comes into view at a high point. This is an excellent spot for mountain scenery. Standing on the pavilion and looking down, the wide field of vision allows for a panoramic view of Fengshu Elementary School and the densely populated area below. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of Taipei 101 in the distance. The surrounding views include Huotoushan and Xinlukeng Mountain, which transform into a romantic scene with the swaying miscanthus during autumn. Leaving the spacious No. 6 Pavilion and walking on the wide dirt road, there's no need to worry about rough terrain, as the natural scenery continues seamlessly. Both distant mountains and nearby grasslands are in view, allowing for an easy, enjoyable experience amidst the lush greenery. After passing by a power tower and an orchard, you will arrive at a vast red dirt plaza, which serves as a hub for multiple hiking trails, often referred to as the "helipad." This area is not only a helicopter landing spot but also has become a base for remote-controlled aircraft enthusiasts on weekends. Due to its status as an intersection of various mountain paths, the trails lead to Huotoushan Eco Park, Huotoushan Park, and Fengshukeng. Visitors can choose to head down from the direction of Tower No. 15, where they can look back at the No. 6 Pavilion and the northern peak of Xinlukeng Mountain, enjoying the picturesque views along the way. As you descend, the colorful ceramic roof of the Minglun Three Saints Temple shines brightly against the lush green mountains, and the pseudo-European architecture below is also quite notable. The trail ends in Fengshu Village, known for its floral sea, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely visit and a wonderful conclusion to this mountain trail.
