The building was originally Renhe Elementary School, which was abandoned for 20 years due to population decline. In 2003, it was renovated under the "Reuse of Idle Spaces" initiative by the Council for Cultural Affairs. To commemorate the hard work of the ancestors in the "Jinguang Cheng Development Team" in pioneering and developing the land, it was named the Jinguang Cheng Cultural Center.
