The building was originally Renhe Elementary School, which was abandoned for 20 years due to population outflow. Under the "Reuse of Idle Space" initiative of the Council for Cultural Affairs, it was renovated and completed in 2003. To commemorate the efforts of the ancestors in pioneering and opening up the land through "Jin Guang Cheng Keng Hao," it was named Jin Guang Cheng Cultural Center.
