The agricultural production, ecology, and lifestyle are integrated within the park, which has no entry fee and offers free guided tours. We welcome your visit, and "Jin Yong DIY Farm" is a great place for your holiday leisure fruit picking and DIY activities. If you're curious about other exotic varieties of tomatoes beyond the common beefsteak tomato, a visit to the farm in Gankeng is a must. Jin Yong Tomato Garden is operated by a young entrepreneur, Peng Jin Yong, who was once awarded the National Top Ten Outstanding Farmer's Shennong Award. True to his name, he is a courageous and creative young man who entered the tomato planting business over ten years ago due to his interest in agriculture. Given that tomatoes grow best at temperatures between 18°C and 25°C, the farm employs a greenhouse hydroponic planting method. This method allows for the control of temperature and moisture and effectively prevents the growth of pathogens, enabling the successful cultivation of many varieties not previously seen in Taiwan. Visitors entering the farm are as if they have entered a tomato magic school, enchanted by the dazzling array of differently shaped and colored tomatoes. Currently, the farm features over 20 varieties of tomatoes from around the world, including those from Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Italy, Israel, and India. Among these, the Japanese Momotaro variety has been cultivated the longest, while the Dutch Gold, known for its slimming properties, is a trailblazer here. Other popular international varieties include the Dutch Beefsteak Tomato and the Japanese Boba Tomato, leading to a lively atmosphere as many people pick tomatoes and explore in amazement. Within this colorful world of tomatoes, many are unique to Taiwan, such as Dutch Cream, Dutch Lemon, Dutch Sesame Green, and Dutch Kiwi, all being members of the tomato family that can only be found here. The wonders and mysteries of the diverse tomato world are showcased. Here, in addition to self-picking fruits, visitors can enjoy tomato juice, tomato popsicles, tomato ice cream, and various delicious and nutritious tomato-based meals. Spend some time enjoying the joy of fruit picking and healthy food with your family, creating happy moments together.
