Jin Yong DIY Tomato Farm Introduction
The park features a Tomato Family themed farm, introducing over thirty varieties of tomatoes from around the world, with various shapes, colors, and nutritional values for DIY fruit picking. It also has a colorful sweet pepper garden, a greenhouse with vertically grown organic strawberries, a flower exhibition and sales area, gourd painting, Hakka rice DIY, lei cha (pounded tea), flower DIY, and more, offering a rich and diverse experience of agricultural fruit picking that combines agricultural production, ecology, and living. Admission to the park is free, and guided tours are provided at no charge. We welcome your visit; "Jin Yong DIY Farm" will be a great place for your weekend leisure fruit picking DIY activities. If you're interested in not only regular beef tomatoes but also other rare varieties around the world, you must visit the farm in Guanxi. Jin Yong Tomato Garden is operated by Peng Jin Yong, who has won the national "Ten Outstanding Farmers" and Shennong Award. True to his name, he is a courageous and creative young man who, driven by his interest in agriculture, started growing tomatoes over a decade ago. Due to the growth temperature of tomatoes being between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius, the farm uses greenhouse hydroponic planting methods. Here, the greenhouse hydroponics employ soilless cultivation, which allows for temperature and moisture control, effectively preventing the growth of pathogens. This not only ensures quality control but also successfully cultivates many varieties never seen before in Taiwan. From the moment visitors step in, it feels like entering a magical school of tomatoes, enchanted by the colorful and uniquely shaped fruits. Currently, the farm boasts over 20 varieties of tomatoes from around the world, such as those from Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Italy, Israel, and India; among them, the Japanese Momotaro has been grown the longest, while the Dutch Golden is renowned for its slimming properties and is a pioneering variety. Additionally, internationally popular varieties like the Dutch beef tomato and the Japanese Boba tomato are also available, creating a festive and lively atmosphere as many people enjoy checking out, picking, and exploring the tomatoes. Among these diverse tomato varieties, many are unique to Taiwan, such as Dutch Cream, Dutch Lemon, Dutch Sesame Green, and Dutch Kiwi, making them exclusive members of the tomato family only found here, showcasing the fascinating and wonderful diversity of the tomato world. Here, visitors can not only pick fruits themselves but also enjoy tomato juice, tomato popsicles, tomato ice cream, and a variety of delicious and nutritious tomato light meals.
