Chingchuan Catholic Church Introduction
The tranquil breeze resonates with the solemnity of the church, as it passes through the suspension bridge and gently climbs up the stone steps. The Qingshui Chapel stands majestically on the mountainside, overlooking the surrounding Wufeng area. This unique church serves as the center of art, spirit, and culture for the village. In 1976, the young Father Ting Songqing arrived in Qingshui, constructing the church with love and beauty. Inside the church, the vividly colored stained glass, along with murals and wooden carvings seen everywhere, as well as the large mosaic wall by the basketball court outside, were all created by the father himself, cleverly blending biblical stories with indigenous legends. Father Ting infused his vibrant youth into Qingshui, adding warmth and a sense of life to this originally cool region.
