Ching Chuan Catholic Church Introduction
The tranquil breeze echoes the solemnity of the chapel as it passes through the suspension bridge, gradually ascending the stone steps. The Cheng Chuan Catholic Church stands on the mountainside, overlooking the Wufeng area as if embracing the land. This unique church serves as the center of art, spirit, and culture for the village. In 1976, a young Father Ting Song-Ching arrived in Cheng Chuan, where he built the church with love and beauty. The church is adorned with colorful stained glass, murals, and wooden carvings, as well as a large mosaic wall by the basketball court outside, all crafted by the hands of the priest, ingeniously blending biblical stories with indigenous legends. Father Ting infused Cheng Chuan with the vibrancy of his youthful years, adding artistic warmth and a sense of life to this originally desolate area.
