Chingchuan Catholic Church Introduction
The tranquil winds echo the solemnity of the church as they pass through the suspension bridge, slowly ascend the stone steps, and reach the Qingshui Catholic Church, which stands on the mountainside, overlooking the Five Peaks area. This unique church is the center of the village's art, spirit, and culture. In 1976, the young Father Ting Sung-Ching arrived in Qingshui, building the church with love and beauty. The interior features vibrant stained glass, murals, and wood carvings, as well as a large mosaic wall by the basketball court outside, all created by the priest himself, skillfully combining biblical stories with indigenous legends. Father Ting infused his colorful youthful years into Qingshui, adding artistic warmth and a life-changing spirit to this originally tranquil area.
