Shitan Township Cultural Center Introduction
Shitan Cultural Center was originally the old site of Shitan Township Office. After the township office relocated, it became an idle space. In 2003, the government promoted the "Reuse of Idle Spaces" and "Local Cultural Center Program" to provide a venue for cultural activities for locals. In response to these two initiatives, the township office applied to establish a cultural center in the old office building. Located in the center of Xindian Village, it is highly accessible with well-developed transportation, making it convenient for residents wanting to enjoy cultural activities, thus increasing the usage rate of the cultural center and making it an important building on Xindian Old Street. The renovated cultural center covers an area of 500 square meters and comprises three floors. The first floor features a children's reading room, a digital center, and a gym; the second floor includes a conference room, a leisure room, and an old photo exhibition area; the third floor is designated for a presentation room and a sports room, serving as a great place for local residents to engage in leisure activities, reading, and fitness. Additionally, the cultural center periodically collaborates with professionals to offer courses in bamboo carving, straw weaving, and papermaking, providing the public with opportunities to learn these ancient crafts.
