Shitan Township Cultural Center Introduction
The Shitan Cultural Center was originally the site of the Shitan Township Office. After the township office relocated, it became an idle space. In 2003, the government promoted the "Reuse of Idle Spaces" and "Local Cultural Center Program," aimed at providing a venue for cultural activities for local residents. To respond to these two initiatives, the township office applied for the establishment of the cultural center at the old office site. Its location in the center of Xindian Village, with high accessibility and convenient transportation, makes it very convenient for residents who want to enjoy cultural events, thus increasing the usage of the cultural center. It is an important building on Xindian Old Street. The renovated cultural center occupies an area of 500 square meters and has three floors. The first floor features a children's reading room, a digital center, and a gym. The second floor contains meeting rooms, a leisure room, and an exhibition area for old photographs. The third floor is designed for a presentation room and a sports room, making it an excellent place for local residents to engage in leisure activities, reading, and fitness during their free time. Additionally, the cultural center periodically collaborates with professionals to offer courses in bamboo sculpture, straw weaving, and papermaking, providing the public with opportunities to learn these ancient crafts.
