Shihmen Township Cultural Center Introduction
The Shitan Cultural Center was originally the old site of the Shitan Township Office. After the township office relocated, it became an idle space. In 2003, the government promoted the "Reutilization of Idle Spaces" and the "Local Cultural Center Plan." To provide a venue for local residents to participate in cultural and artistic activities and in response to these two plans, the township office sought the establishment of the cultural center in the old office building. Its location in the center of Xindian Village offers convenient transportation, making it easily accessible for residents wishing to enjoy cultural activities, thus increasing the utilization rate of the cultural center, which is an important building on Xindian Old Street. After renovation, the cultural center spans 500 square meters over three floors. The first floor features a children's reading room, a digital center, and a gym, while the second floor includes a meeting room, a leisure room, and an exhibition area for old photographs. The third floor is designated for a presentation room and a sports room, making it a great place for local residents to engage in leisure activities, reading, and fitness during their free time. Additionally, the cultural center occasionally collaborates with professionals to offer courses in bamboo carving, straw weaving, papermaking, and other traditional crafts, providing the public with opportunities to learn these ancient skills.
