Sizhi Township Cultural Center Introduction
Shitan Cultural Center was originally the old site of Shitan Township Office. After the township office relocated, it became an unused space. In 2003, the government promoted the "Reuse of Idle Spaces" and "Local Cultural Center Program" to provide a venue for local residents to engage in cultural and artistic activities. In response to these two initiatives, the township office sought to establish a cultural center at the old office site. Its location in the center of Xindian Village provides excellent accessibility, making it convenient for residents who wish to enjoy cultural activities, which has increased the utilization of the cultural center, marking it as an important building on Xindian Old Street. The renovated cultural center covers an area of 500 square meters and has three floors. The first floor includes a children's reading room, digital center, and gym; the second floor houses meeting rooms, a leisure room, and a display area for old photographs; the third floor is designated for a presentation room and a sports room, making it a great place for local residents to engage in leisure activities, reading, and fitness during their spare time. Additionally, the cultural center periodically collaborates with professionals to offer courses in bamboo carving, grass weaving, papermaking, and other ancient crafts, providing the public with opportunities to engage with these traditional skills.
