Lukang Chenghuang Temple Introduction
In the 19th year of the Qing Daoguang period (1839), the Lim family of Rimo and local gentry from Yongning, Quanzhou (also known as Aocheng) respectfully invited the City God to build a temple in Lugang. Since the Yongning City God Temple is called "Aoting Palace," the Lugang City God Temple also adopts the name "Aoting Palace" in honor of its ancestral temple. The main hall enshrines the City God, who is conferred the title "Lord Zhongyou." Above the spirit tablet, there is a plaque inscribed with "Harmonizing Yin and Yang," indicating the City God's duty to oversee both the Yin and Yang realms.
