Lukang Chenghuang Temple Introduction
In the 19th year of the Daoguang reign (1839), the Lin family of Rihmaohang and local gentry requested the city god from Yongning, Quanzhou (Aocheng), to build a temple in Lugang. Since the Yongning City God Temple is called "Aoting Temple," the Lugang City God Temple also used its ancestral temple's name "Aoting Temple." The main hall enshrines the City God, who is conferred the title of "Duke Zhongyou." Above the altar is an inscription "Xieliyi Yang," which indicates the City God's duty to manage both the underworld and the mortal realm.
