M乳 Alley Introduction
Lugang's famous narrow alley, originally a passage between the front and back streets, is so narrow that only one person can pass through at a time; two people must brush past each other, hence the name "Mō lǚ xiàng" (literally "Breast Touching Alley").
In fact, Nipple Alley is a fire lane between a row of shop houses. Local residents, in order to block the strong sea breeze, have minimized the distance between their houses, with the narrowest point less than 70 centimeters. If a man and a woman happen to walk towards each other and pass by, it would be quite an embarrassing situation. As a result, many names have emerged, such as "Chest Protection Alley" and "Gentleman's Alley," but none are as well-known as the crude name "Nipple Alley."
Another theory is that Menglin Lane, in ancient times, people longed to have children and thus thought about it during the day and dreamed about it at night. Therefore, the narrow and long alley resembles people's dreams, and it was named "Menglin Lane." However, because it sounds similar to "Moluxiang" in Taiwanese, over time it became known as "Moluxiang."
