Lukang Ceramics Museum Introduction

Shih Hsing-Hwei, also known as Tao Ming-Fang-Chieh, was born in Lukang in 1963. His works have won the second and third National Craft Awards. "I do not wish to create works that cannot move me" is Shih's creative philosophy. Over more than twenty years of pottery-making, he continually reflects on the various relationships between himself, the land, life, and creation. He explores these themes through the people, events, objects, and places in his life, presenting the relationship between people and their works through the emotional connections observed in everyday moments. After years of refinement, he has gradually integrated scenes and objects from life into his creations.
