Lukang Ceramics Museum Introduction
Shih Hsing-Hui, also known as Tao Ming-Fang-Jie, was born in 1963 in Lukang. His works have won the second and third National Craft Awards. "I don't want to create works that cannot move me" is Shih Hsing-Hui's creative philosophy. Over more than twenty years of pottery-making, he has continually reflected on the various relationships between himself and the land, life, and creation. He explores these relationships through the people, events, objects, and places in his life, presenting the connections between humans and works through the emotions evoked by the details around him. After years of refinement, he has gradually integrated scenes and objects from his life into his works.
