Lukang Ceramics Museum Introduction
Shi Xinghui, known also as Tao Mingfangjie, was born in 1963 in Lugang. His works have won the second and third National Craft Awards. "I do not wish to create works that cannot move me," is Shi Xinghui's creative philosophy. Over more than twenty years of making pottery, he continuously reflects on the various relationships between himself, the land, life, and creation. Consequently, he explores these relationships through the people, events, objects, and places in his life, presenting the connection between humans and works through the inspirations he derives from the minutiae of his surroundings. After years of refinement, he has gradually integrated scenes and objects from daily life into his creations.
