Lukang Ceramic Museum Introduction
Shih Hsing-Hui, known as陶名方杰, was born in Lukang in 1963. His works have won the second and third National Craft Awards. "I do not wish to create works that do not move me," is Shih Hsing-Hui's creative philosophy. Over more than twenty years of pottery making, he has continuously reflected on the various relationships between himself, the land, life, and creation. He explores these relationships through the people, events, objects, and places in his life, presenting the connection between people and their works through the emotions derived from the minutiae of his surroundings. After years of refinement, he has gradually integrated scenes and objects from his life into his works.
