Ancient Water Carrying Trail Introduction
The Tiao Shui Ancient Path is one of the six ancient paths for water carriers at Bagua Mountain. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is currently composed of stone steps, brick paths, concrete roads, and dirt trails, forming a well-planned hiking route. The path enters from No. 159, Yuan Cao Road (County Road 148) and features a Japanese-style torii gate and a parking lot. Along the way, there are many resting points for visitors. April is the best time to appreciate the tung blossom scenery as well as to enjoy the butterflies fluttering around. There are two natural spring wells at the halfway point of the ancient path, known as Longfeng Spring, which is the ideal spot for appreciating the tung flowers. The path is generally flat and easy to walk, with only some sections being steeper, so visitors should be careful.
