Ancient Water-Carrying Trail Introduction
The Water Carriers' Ancient Trail is one of the six major ancient trails of Baguashan, which dates back to the Qing Dynasty. Currently, it consists of stone steps, brick paths, cement roads, and dirt paths, which have been planned and organized into a walking trail. The trail begins at No. 159, Yuan-tsao Road (County Road 148), and features a Japanese-style torii gate and a parking lot. Along the way, numerous resting points are available for visitors to take a break. In April, not only can you enjoy the beauty of the tung flowers, but you can also witness butterflies fluttering about. Halfway up the ancient trail, there are two natural springs known as Longfeng Spring, which are the best spots to appreciate the tung flowers. The trail is generally flat and easy to walk on, with only a few steep sections that require caution.
