Bishan Ancient Trail Introduction
The Bìshān Ancient Trail and the Tiāo Shuǐ Ancient Trail run parallel to each other. Before entering the Bìshān Ancient Trail, one must first walk a section of the Tiāo Shuǐ Ancient Trail before turning onto the Bìshān Ancient Trail. The starting point of the Bìshān Ancient Trail has a steep slope, so careful walking is required. The Tiāo Shuǐ Ancient Trail runs along the creek, while the Bìshān Ancient Trail follows the mountain ridge, creating a looped hiking path with varying elevations. The starting point of the Bìshān Ancient Trail is a muddy stone path, and the latter part is an agricultural road, surrounded by longans, lychees, pomelos, jackfruits, lemons, and natural forests. In some sections, there are distant views of the highway. In the middle of the trail, there is a stone staircase called the "Heavenly Ladder" that connects the two ancient trails, though it is quite steep and difficult to navigate. After passing through the dense lychee and longan forests, there is a junction that leads to the old temple Donglong Temple, which connects to Section 672 of Dazhang Road and County Road 139. The junction also allows access to the Tiāo Shuǐ Ancient Trail after a rest platform followed by wooden steps. Trail length: 2.04 kilometers. Walking time: 1.5 hours. Facilities: rest platform, seating, portable toilets, signposts, parking lot (scooters, small cars).
Some sections offer a distant view of the highway.
