Bishan Ancient Trail Introduction
The Biyu Ancient Path and the Tiaoshui Ancient Path run parallel to each other. Before entering the Biyu Ancient Path, one must walk a stretch of the Tiaoshui Ancient Path before turning onto the Biyu Ancient Path. The starting point of the Biyu Ancient Path has a steep incline, so caution is advised while walking. The Tiaoshui Ancient Path follows the mountain creek, while the Biyu Ancient Path traverses the mountain ridge, creating a circular trail with one path high and the other low. The Biyu Ancient Path starts with a dirt and stone trail, transitioning to an agricultural road in the later section, surrounded by longan, lychee, pomelo, jackfruit, lemon, and natural forests. In some sections, there are distant views of the highway. In the middle of the trail, there is a "Sky Ladder," a stone step staircase connecting the two ancient paths, which is steep and challenging to traverse. Passing through dense lychee and longan trees, one can turn at the fork to the Donglong Temple, connecting to Lane 672 of Dazhang Road to County Road 139. From the fork, after a resting platform, a wooden step staircase leads to the Tiaoshui Ancient Path. Length of the trail: 2.04 kilometers. Walking time: 1.5 hours. Facilities: resting platforms, benches, mobile toilets, signposts, parking areas (for motorcycles and small vehicles).
