Bishan Ancient Trail Introduction
Bishan Old Trail and Tiaoshui Old Trail run parallel to each other. Before entering Bishan Old Trail, one must walk a section of Tiaoshui Old Trail before turning onto Bishan Old Trail. The starting point of Bishan Old Trail has a steep slope, so care should be taken when walking. Tiaoshui Old Trail follows the mountain stream's drainage channel, while Bishan Old Trail runs along the mountain ridge, creating a circular hiking path with one trail higher and the other lower. The beginning of Bishan Old Trail is a muddy stone path, and the latter part is an agricultural access road, with surrounding vegetation including longan, lychee, pomelo, jackfruit, lemon, and natural forest. Some sections offer distant views of the highway. In the middle of the trail, there is a stone staircase called "Sky Ladder" that connects the two old trails, but it is quite steep and difficult to navigate. Passing through dense lychee and longan groves, one can divert to Donglong Temple at the fork, and then connect to County Road 139 via Lane 672 on Dazhang Road. The fork also leads to a rest platform where wooden steps connect to Tiaoshui Old Trail. Trail length: 2.04 kilometers. Walking time: 1.5 hours. Facilities include a rest platform, seating, mobile toilet, signposts, and a parking lot (for motorcycles and small vehicles).
Some sections allow a distant view of the highway.
Bishan Ancient Trail is a dirt and stone path, surrounded by longan, lychee, pomelo, jackfruit, lemon, and natural forest.
