Bishan Ancient Trail Introduction

Starting from Bihshan Temple in Fenyuan, the steps beside the pagoda serve as the entrance to the trail. Bihshan Temple is set in a tranquil and solemn environment, making it a great place to visit. Although this ancient path has suffered from water damage in the past, resulting in erosion, recent repair measures by the county government have improved the area significantly, creating a lush, ancient ambiance that offers a different charm. The Bihshan Ancient Trail runs parallel to the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail, and before entering the Bihshan Ancient Trail, visitors must walk a section of the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail. The starting point of the Bihshan Ancient Trail has a steep gradient, so caution is advised; the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail follows a mountain stream, while the Bihshan Ancient Trail runs along the mountain ridge, creating a circular path with varying elevations. The starting point of the Bihshan Ancient Trail is a dirt and stone path, transitioning to an agricultural road in the later sections, surrounded by longan, lychee, pomelo, jackfruit, lemon trees, and natural forest. Some parts of the trail provide distant views of the highway. In the middle of the trail, there is a "sky ladder," a stone staircase connecting the two ancient trails, which is steep and difficult to navigate. Passing through dense longan and lychee forests, a fork in the trail leads to the ancient temple East Dragon Palace, which then connects to Lane 672 on Dazhang Road and County Road 139. The fork also allows access to a rest platform, which connects to the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail via wooden stairs.
