Bishan Ancient Trail (Discovering History and Enjoying Scenery Tour) Introduction
Starting from Biyansi Temple in Fengyuan, the stairs next to the pagoda serve as the entrance to the trail. The environment at Biyansi Temple is serene and solemn, making it a great place to visit. Although this ancient path has been affected by floods, leading to the loss of the roadbed, recent repair measures by the county government have greatly improved the area. The lush greenery and ancient atmosphere offer a unique experience. The Biyans Ancient Path runs parallel to the Tiao Shui Ancient Path; before entering the Biyans Ancient Path, one must walk a section of the Tiao Shui Ancient Path. The starting point of the Biyans Ancient Path has a steep incline, requiring careful walking; the Tiao Shui Ancient Path follows the mountain stream, while the Biyans Ancient Path traces the mountain ridge, creating a looped trail with varying elevations. The starting point of the Biyans Ancient Path is a dirt and rock path, and further along is a farm access road, surrounded by longan, lychee, pomelo, jackfruit, lemon trees, and natural forests. In some sections, there are distant views of the highway. In the middle of the trail, there is a stone staircase known as the "Heavenly Ladder" connecting the two ancient paths, but it is steeper and more difficult to navigate. Passing through dense lychee and longan orchards, there is a fork where one can turn towards the ancient temple Donglong Palace and connect to Lane 672 of Dazhang Road, which links to County Road 139. From the fork, one can also reach a resting platform and connect to the Tiao Shui Ancient Path via wooden plank stairs.
