Bishan Historic Trail Introduction
Starting from Biyanshan Temple in Fen Yuan, the stairs next to the pagoda serve as the entrance to the trail. Biyanshan Temple offers a serene and solemn environment, making it a great place to visit. Although this ancient path was impacted by flooding, causing the roadbed to erode, recent maintenance measures by the county government have substantially improved the area. With lush greenery and an ancient ambiance, it presents a different charm. The Biyanshan Ancient Trail runs parallel to the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail; before entering the Biyanshan Ancient Trail, one must walk a section of the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail. The starting point of the Biyanshan Ancient Trail has a steep incline, so caution is advised. The Tiaoshui Ancient Trail follows the mountain stream, while the Biyanshan Ancient Trail runs along the ridge line of the mountain, creating a circular trail with varying elevations. The beginning of the Biyanshan Ancient Trail is a dirt and stone path, while the latter part is an agricultural road. Surrounding the trail are longan, lychee, pomelo, jackfruit, lemon trees, and natural forests. Some sections offer distant views of the highway. In the middle of the trail, there is a "heavenly ladder" made of stone steps connecting the two ancient paths, although it is steeper and difficult to traverse. The trail passes through dense lychee and longan forests, and at the fork, one can turn towards the ancient temple Donglong Palace, connecting to Alley 672 of Dazhang Road leading to County Road 139. There is also a rest platform accessible from the fork, connected to the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail by wooden steps.
