Bishan Ancient Trail (Exploring Ancient Paths and Scenic Views) Introduction

Starting from Biyans Temple in Fenqiu, the stairs next to the pagoda serve as the entrance to the trail. Biyans Temple is located in a serene and solemn environment, making it a great place to visit. Although this ancient trail has been affected by floods in the past, leading to erosion of the trailbed, recent repair measures by the county government have greatly improved the area, enhancing its lush greenery and ancient charm, adding to its unique flavor. The Biyans Ancient Trail runs parallel to the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail. Before entering the Biyans Ancient Trail, one must first walk along a section of the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail. The starting point of the Biyans Ancient Trail has a steep slope, so caution is advised while walking; the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail follows along a mountain stream, while the Biyans Ancient Trail runs along the ridge line, forming a circular trail with varying elevations. The starting point of the Biyans Ancient Trail is a muddy rocky path, while the latter section is an agricultural pathway surrounded by longan, lychee, pomelo, jackfruit, lemon trees, and natural woodlands. In some places, you can enjoy distant views of the highway. In the middle of the trail, there is a "Heavenly Ladder" stone staircase connecting the two ancient trails, though it is steep and difficult to navigate. After passing through a dense grove of lychee and longan trees, you can take a fork to visit the ancient temple Donglong Temple, then connect to Section 672 of Dazhang Road leading to County Road 139; from the fork, you can also reach a resting platform and connect to the Tiaoshui Ancient Trail via a wooden stairway.
