Shanhu Trail Introduction
This trail connects Shetou Township in Changhua County with Nantou City. It can be accessed from either the Changhua side or the Nantou side, with a total length of approximately 1.8 kilometers. The entire trail is a natural dirt and stone path, with a resting pavilion located near the midpoint. In spring, you can observe the traces of the purple butterfly, and the plant landscape is quite rich and diverse. The eastern section of the trail features more shade, allowing you to appreciate secondary forest species such as acacia, bamboo, blood wood, shell ginger, and boat lily. The western section is primarily characterized by fruit tree scenery. The frequency of encountering fellow hikers is relatively low, allowing you to listen to the sounds of nature in tranquility, making it suitable for those who love nature and prefer mountain climbing experiences.
