Sun Moon Lake Water Frog Head Trail Introduction
Shuifater Trail is located between Dazhu Lake and Ita Thao, with an entrance featuring a frog statue and a parking lot for small cars. The trail is 600 meters long and has a drop of about 60 meters, built as an elevated boardwalk. Walking along the bamboo forest path, the endpoint is a circular route by the waterfront. The trail passes through a Moso bamboo forest, showcasing beautiful scenery, abundant native trees, and ferns. Next to the trail, there are several wood flowers that bloom white in the summer, which are highly valued for their beauty. Along the way, visitors can observe lively ecosystems with butterflies dancing, birds flying, fish jumping, and frogs leaping. At the pond, a "Frog Pile" bronze sculpture is installed, vividly telling the origin of the place name and serving as an indicator for water level changes.
