Sun Moon Lake Water Frog Head Trail Introduction
Shuifawtou Trail is located between Dazhu Lake and Ita Thao. At the entrance, there is a frog statue and a small parking lot. The trail is 600 meters long with an elevation gain of approximately 60 meters, constructed as an elevated boardwalk. Walking through the bamboo forest path, the trail ends with a circular route by the water’s edge. It passes through Moso bamboo groves with beautiful scenery, rich native trees, and ferns. Along the trail, there are several wood cotton trees that bloom with white flowers in the summer, providing great ornamental value. Visitors can observe the vibrant ecology, including dancing butterflies, flying birds, leaping fish, and jumping frogs. By the pond, there is a bronze sculpture titled "Frog Stacking," which vividly tells the origin of the place name and also serves as a gauge for water level changes.
