Sun Moon Lake Amphibian Trail Introduction
Shuifawato Trail is located between Dazhu Lake and Ita Thao. The entrance features a frog statue and a small car parking area. The trail is 600 meters long with an elevation drop of about 60 meters, constructed as an elevated walkway. Walking along the bamboo forest path, the trail ends in a circular route by the water's edge. It passes through a forest of moso bamboo, offering beautiful scenery, with abundant native trees and ferns. Along the trail, there are several Michelia champaca trees that bloom with white flowers in summer, making them highly ornamental. Visitors can enjoy the lively ecosystem with butterflies dancing, birds flying, fish jumping, and frogs leaping. Near the pond, there is a bronze sculpture of "Frog Stack," which vividly narrates the origin of the place name and serves as an observation point for water level changes.
