Sun Moon Lake Water Frog Head Trail Introduction

The Shuifawtou Trail is located between Dazhuhua Lake and Ita Thao, with an entrance featuring a frog sculpture and a small car parking area. The trail is 600 meters long and has an elevation change of about 60 meters, consisting of an elevated boardwalk. Walking along the bamboo forest path, the endpoint is a circular route by the waterfront. The trail passes through a grove of Moso bamboo, offering beautiful scenery with abundant native trees and ferns. There are several Dicksonia tree ferns alongside the trail, which bloom with white flowers in summer, providing great aesthetic value. Along the way, visitors can enjoy vibrant wildlife, including dancing butterflies, soaring birds, leaping fish, and hopping frogs. By the pond, there is a bronze sculpture titled "Frog Stacking," which vividly narrates the origin of the place name and serves as an indicator for observing water level changes.
