The Only Restaurant, a gourmet dining establishment, is located in the beautiful scenery of Sandimen Township, Pingtung County, surrounded by lush green mountains. Established in 1983, it has been over twenty years since its inception. The restaurant combines the natural landscape of Sandimen with the cultural characteristics of the Paiwan indigenous people, creating a themed dining experience that emphasizes cultural arts and culinary delights. Currently, it is the most representative leisure gourmet restaurant in Sandimen and is also the largest representative of glass bead art heritage. Teacher Shih serves as a successful role model for female entrepreneurship. To revitalize the local economy, she has dedicated significant effort and emotion to assist her peers in achieving stable incomes. Currently, she employs local workers, all of whom are indigenous women, who possess great patience and meticulous craftsmanship. The Only Restaurant provides these indigenous women not just with a job or skills, but also with a sense of dignity in survival and warmth in life. Since its establishment, The Only Restaurant has focused on promoting indigenous culinary arts and innovating dishes that resonate more with contemporary consumers, while continuously creating unique flavors and preserving the culinary heritage of the Paiwan people. In response to the public's enthusiasm and exploration mindset towards indigenous cultures, the restaurant emphasizes how to highlight the unique connotations of Paiwan cuisine and connect the cultural history of the Paiwan people through food. To offer visitors a complete travel experience, in addition to enjoying delicious Paiwan-style meals at the "Only Indigenous Gourmet Restaurant," the establishment also sells bead artworks and provides experiences such as glass bead crafting, DIY bead stringing courses, and tribal tours, allowing everyone to appreciate the unique beauty of Taiwan's Paiwan indigenous culture.
