Shan Pig Valley Scenic Area Introduction
In Xiaoliuqiu, besides the charming coastal scenery, the sights of Shanzhu Gou in the mountains are truly spectacular. Here, you can fully immerse yourself in the island's most famous coral reef karst landscape, surrounded by lush, green vegetation. Sunlight streams down through the gaps in the coral reef above, filtering through the leaves of the giant taro, which seem to emit a green glow, creating a refreshing atmosphere. Shanzhu Gou not only boasts mesmerizing views but also features an interesting legend. It is said that a long time ago, a mountain pig spirit resided here. One day, he saw a heavenly maiden bathing. Infatuated, the mountain pig spirit stole the maiden's clothes and demanded that she stay with him in exchange for their return. The maiden verbally agreed but took her clothes and quickly left, leaving the lonely mountain pig spirit behind. Heartbroken, the mountain pig spirit cried incessantly, and his tears eroded the coral rocks, creating the channels that we now see in Shanzhu Gou.
