Shanpigou Valley Introduction
The name "Shanzhugou" comes from a legend about a wild boar spirit who stole a fairy's colorful clothes while she was bathing by the sea. The spirit used the clothes to threaten the fairy, but she pretended to agree to his demands, reclaimed her clothes, and left. The wild boar spirit, having been deceived, cried out of shame and died, which led to the naming of "Shanzhugou." The area is developed along coral reef terrain with wooden paths and trails, equipped with interpretive signs and scenic viewpoints. A round trip takes about an hour and a half. The trails are lined with century-old banyan trees and vines, providing a cool and pleasant walk. Coral reefs and shell fossils abound, and one can embrace the wonders of coastal erosion that have existed for millions of years. The environment is rich in forest phytoncides, stimulating the senses of sight, sound, and spirit.
