Biyun Temple Introduction
Biyun Temple is the spiritual center for the residents of Xiao Liuqiu! Located in the heart of Liuqiu Island and built in 1736, it has a history of over 200 years and is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. Residents of Xiao Liuqiu come to the temple for various life events such as weddings, funerals, selecting auspicious dates, celebrating month-old babies, seeking romantic partners, inquiring about illnesses, and hoping for bountiful fishing trips. Guanyin Bodhisattva plays a significant role in the joys and sorrows of their lives. For all matters big and small, residents come to seek divination and guidance from the deity, making it a spiritual support for the community! In 1980, the late President Chiang Ching-kuo visited this temple and donated 1,000 NTD as an offering, which helped the temple gain fame throughout Taiwan! A wooden path located below Biyun Temple allows visitors to observe the bamboo forest ecosystem. Walking along it, sunlight filters through the trees, creating a refreshing ambiance. At night, lights illuminate the bamboo forest, accompanied by the gentle sound of flowing water and the chorus of frogs.
