Biyun Temple Introduction
The faith center of the residents of Xiao Liu Qiu! Biyun Temple is located in the center of Liuqiu Island and was built in 1736, making it over 200 years old. It primarily worships Guanyin Bodhisattva. The residents of Xiao Liu Qiu rely on Guanyin for various aspects of life, whether it be marriage, funeral rites, selecting auspicious dates, celebrating births, seeking romantic relationships, inquiring about health issues, or asking for bountiful catches for fishing boats. Almost all of life's joys and sorrows, joys and grievances are intertwined with Guanyin Bodhisattva. Residents of Xiao Liu Qiu come to the temple to draw lots and seek guidance from the deity, making it a spiritual refuge for the community! In 1980, the late President Chiang Ching-kuo visited this temple and donated 1,000 TWD for incense money, allowing the temple’s reputation to spread throughout Taiwan! Below Biyun Temple, there is a wooden walkway that allows visitors to enjoy the bamboo forest ecosystem. Strolling through it, sunlight filters through the gaps in the trees, creating a refreshing atmosphere. At night, the glow of lights reflects off the bamboo forest while the gentle sound of flowing water accompanies the rustling bamboo, and the croaking of frogs creates a symphony of sounds.
