Neiweipao Introduction
Neiwen Village is located on the left bank of Fenggang Creek upstream, about 1 kilometer west of the watershed between Fenggang Creek and Liren Creek, divided into Neiwen Lane 1, Neiwen Lane 2, and Neihai. The village was historically formed by four settlements, originally residing on both banks of Neiwen Creek, a tributary of Fangshan Creek. It has a long history and a significant position as a large village. However, after the retrocession, due to agricultural disadvantages at the original site, the villagers agreed to relocate in 1948. Between April 1948 and October 1950, they moved in batches. While most relocated to the current site, some ethnic members moved to the present villages of Fenglin, Neishi, Shizi, Mudan, and Nanshi. The two main chief families also relocated to Dongyuan Village in Mudan Township and the center of Shizi Village, respectively. Neiwen Village is situated deep in the mountains, relying on the Southern Cross-Island Highway for external communication, making transportation inconvenient. Most young and middle-aged people leave to seek employment, leaving only the elderly and children in the village. Due to climatic influences, there are wetlands, marshes, and tropical rainforests nearby, which is a significant feature of the area.
