Neiwen Settlement Introduction
Neiwen Village is located on the left bank of Fenggang River upstream, about 1 kilometer west of the watershed between Fenggang River and Liren River. It is divided into three parts: Neiwen No. 1 Lane, Neiwen No. 2 Lane, and Neihai. In the past, Neiwen Village was formed by the combination of four settlements that originally resided on both banks of Neiwen Creek, a tributary of Fangshan Creek. It is a village with a long history and significant power, holding an important position. However, after the retrocession, due to the unfavorable agricultural conditions of the original site, the villagers agreed to relocate the village during the 37th year of the Republic of China, and from April 37 to October 39, they moved in batches. Most of them moved to the current location, while some tribespeople relocated to the villages of Fenglin, Neishi, Shizi, Mudan, and Nanshi. The two main chief families also moved to the Dongyuan Village in Mudan Township and the central Lunzhen Village in Shizi. Neiwen Village is situated deep in the mountains and relies on the South Link Highway for external connections. The transportation is inconvenient, and most young and middle-aged individuals leave to seek employment, leaving mainly the elderly and children in the village. Due to climatic influences, there are wetlands, swamps, and rainforests nearby, which are tropical terrains, making it a significant feature.
