Neiwen Blog Introduction
The Neiwen Village is located on the left bank of the Fenggang River upstream, approximately 1 kilometer west of the watershed between the Fenggang River and the Lijin River. It is divided into three areas: Neiwen Lane 1, Neiwen Lane 2, and Neihai. Historically, Neiwen Village was formed by four settlements, originally inhabited along both banks of the Neiwen River, a tributary of the Fangshan River. It is a historically significant village with a strong influence. However, after the retrocession, due to the unfavorable agricultural conditions of the original site, the villagers agreed to relocate in 1948. Between April 1948 and October 1950, the inhabitants moved in stages. Most of them moved to the current site, while some relocated to the nearby villages of Fenglin, Neishi, Shizi, Mudan, and Nanshi. The two major chief families migrated to the Dongyuan Village in Mudan Township and the center of the Shizi Village known as Zhonglun. Neiwen Village is situated in the deep mountains and relies on the Southern Link Highway for external communication, resulting in inconvenient transportation. Most young and middle-aged residents have left to seek work, leaving only the elderly and children in the village. Due to climatic influences, there are wetlands, swamps, and tropical rainforest terrains nearby, which is a significant feature of the area.
