Shoufeng Ridge Trail Introduction
The Shougang Checkpoint on the Shougang Forest Road is located at the border of Pingtung and Taitung. After being abandoned for many years, it has recently become a must-visit spot for cyclists traveling around the island via the South-Link Highway. The walls of the checkpoint and nearby road signs have been signed by biking enthusiasts, creating a unique scene in the Shougang section. Riding along County Road 199 next to Shougang towards Neiweng and Mudan, one can see lush bamboo trees on both sides and beautiful landscapes filled with wild ginger flowers. The cool breeze of the forest road has left cyclists feeling that the journey is truly worthwhile.
