Taiwan Sugar Chihshang Pasture Resort Introduction
Taiwan Sugar's Mukye Resort was originally the Taiwan Sugar Chi-Shang Syrup Factory, located in the fresh air of the Hualien-Taitung Valley, adjacent to the clear Peinan River and within walking distance to the well-known Chishang Old Field Cultural Area. To protect the natural ecology, the resort adheres to a low-development principle, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in Chishang's natural scenery and enjoy a peaceful and leisurely vacation. The resort is well-equipped, featuring elegant guest rooms while preserving the former Taiwan Sugar steam locomotive. It also has a unique Mongolian artifacts area and a prairie-style plaza, allowing visitors to experience the vast grasslands depicted in film and television without leaving the country. The resort has also planned a large grass farm where guests can rent bicycles to explore the various areas. Visitors can gaze up at the magnificent Central Mountain Range and enjoy watching herds of cattle and sheep grazing in the pastures. In the morning and evening, birds such as neck-circled pheasants and herons can be spotted. The resort collaborates with the Taipei Zoo to provide a sanctuary for animals such as pygmy hippos, Przewalski's horses, and Eland antelopes from the zoo, thus becoming a conservation base for large herbivores. Guests at the resort can not only relax but also observe various animals up close in nature, enjoying the slow-paced lifestyle of Chishang.
