Taisugar Chihshang Ranch Resort Introduction
Taiwan Sugar's Mukuye Resort was originally the Taiwan Sugar Chiayi Syrup Factory, located in the fresh air of the Hualien-Taitung Valley, adjacent to the clear Peinan River and within walking distance to the well-known Chihshang New Park Cultural Area. To protect the natural ecology, the resort adheres to a low-development principle, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in Chihshang’s natural landscapes and enjoy a peaceful and leisurely vacation time. The resort is well-equipped with amenities; besides exquisite guest rooms, it also retains the old Taiwan Sugar steam locomotive, and features a unique Mongolian cultural area and a Central Asian-style plaza, allowing visitors to experience the grassland scenery depicted in films and dramas without leaving the country. The resort has also planned a large pasture farm, where guests can rent bicycles to leisurely explore the various areas of the farm. Visitors can gaze up at the lush and magnificent Central Mountain Range while enjoying the sight of herds of cattle and sheep grazing on the grasslands. In the mornings and evenings, birds such as the Chinese pheasant and white herons can also be spotted. The resort collaborates with the Taipei City Zoo to house animals such as pygmy hippopotamuses, Mongolian wild horses, and elands from the Taipei Zoo, becoming a conservation base for large herbivores. At the resort, guests can not only relax their minds and bodies but also observe various animals up close in nature, enjoying the slow-paced lifestyle of Chihshang.
