Taitung Farm Introduction
Taitung Farm, operated by the Veterans Affairs Council of the Executive Yuan, is conveniently located with clear signage on both sides of the provincial road, featuring a lighthouse style and an archway style, making its objectives very distinct and innovatively designed. The walls on both sides of the farm's front are made of concrete mixed with pebbles, covered in small pebbles of black, white, and dark red colors, set against a white cement base. The pebble foundation has stone lions installed, totaling 100 on both sides, which are quite eye-catching and impressive. The Taitung site covers a vast area of 15,637 hectares, with an additional nursery area of over 3 hectares. The layout is centered around an office building, flanked by a cafeteria, dormitory, production facilities, raw material storage, and recreational areas. The area behind the building, which was originally a fish pond, has been transformed into a tennis court. The square features a full-body bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek, and the open space within the site is meticulously designed with a Self-Reliance Garden, Specimen Garden, fountain, and flower garden. The area is filled with evergreen cypress and pine trees, often referred to as "Chishang Park" for its beautiful environment, adorned with flowers throughout the seasons. Additionally, the historical museum on-site houses a rich collection of ancient farming tools, while the green spaces showcase the evolution of modern agricultural machinery, offering both educational and observational value.
