Taitung Farm Introduction
The Taitung Farm, operated by the Veterans Affairs Council of the Executive Yuan, has convenient transportation and a clear location. The farm is marked by two signs on either side of the provincial road: one shaped like a lighthouse and the other like an archway, making the destination very obvious and the design quite innovative. The walls on both sides of the farm's front are made of stone masonry with a base of small pebbles laid in black, white, and dark red colors, all set in white cement. The stone masonry base supports stone lions, with a total of 100 lions on both sides, which are quite eye-catching and impressive. The Taitung area covers an extensive land of 15,637 hectares, with an additional seedling area of more than 3 hectares. The internal layout centers around an office building, with employee dining, dormitories, production buildings, raw material storage, as well as recreational facilities and a garage distributed on both sides. The area behind the building was originally a fish pond but has since been converted into a tennis court. The plaza features a full-body bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek, and the open space of the farm is meticulously designed, featuring a Self-Strengthening Park, a Specimen Garden, a fountain, and a flower garden, creating an environment filled with evergreen cypress and various blooming flowers, earning it the nickname "Chishang Park." Additionally, the farm's history museum has a rich collection of ancient farming tools, and the green area displays the evolution of modern agricultural machinery, all of which have significant educational and observational value.
