Taitung Farm Introduction
The Taitung Farm, operated by the Veterans Affairs Council of the Executive Yuan, is easily accessible and prominently located, with signage on both sides of the provincial road—one in the shape of a lighthouse and the other as a gate, making the goals very clear and the design quite innovative. The walls on both sides of the farm's facade are made of cemented pebbles with small pebbles adhered to the bottom, featuring black, white, and dark red pebbles set against a white cement base. A base of cemented pebbles is adorned with stone lions, totaling 100 on both sides, which are quite eye-catching and impressive. The Taitung area covers a vast land of 15,637 hectares, with an additional seedling area of over 3 hectares. The interior is centered around an office building, with dining and dormitory facilities for employees, as well as production facilities, raw material storage, recreational areas, and garages distributed on both sides. Originally a fish pond, the area behind the building has been transformed into a tennis court. There is a bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek in a standing pose in the plaza. The open space of the farm is meticulously designed, featuring the Self-Reliance Garden, Specimen Garden, fountain pool, garden, and more, surrounded by towering cypress trees and lush greenery, with flowers blooming throughout the seasons, earning it the nickname "Chishang Park." Additionally, the farm's history museum boasts a rich collection of ancient farming tools, and the green space showcases the evolution of modern agricultural machinery, both of which hold significant educational and observational value.
