Taitung Farm Introduction
The Taitung Farm, managed by the Veterans Affairs Council of the Executive Yuan, is conveniently located and easily accessible. The entrance is marked by two distinctive signs on either side of the provincial road, one designed like a lighthouse and the other in the form of an archway, making the destination very clear with an innovative design. The walls on both sides of the farm's facade feature a base of cobblestones topped with small pebbles in black, white, and dark red colors, all set in white cement. The cobblestone base is adorned with stone lions, totaling 100 on both sides, which are quite striking and leave a lasting impression. The Taitung Farm spans an expansive area of 15,637 hectares, with an additional nursery area of over 3 hectares. The internal layout centers around an office building with employee dining facilities, dormitories, production sheds, raw material storage, as well as recreational and garage spaces distributed on either side. Originally, the space behind the building was a fish pond but has since been transformed into a tennis court. The plaza features a full-body bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek, and the open areas within the farm have been carefully designed to include a Self-Reliance Garden, a Specimen Garden, a fountain, and gardens with cypress and cedar trees, creating an evergreen ambiance. The area is often referred to as "Chihshang Park" due to its beautiful environment, which blossoms with flowers throughout the year. Additionally, the farm's historical museum showcases a rich collection of ancient farming tools, while the green spaces exhibit the evolution of modern agricultural machinery, offering significant educational and observational value.
