Rice Homelands Museum Introduction
The Rice Homeland Museum is located beside the eastern road of the Xin Kai Yuan Old Field area in Chishang, Taitung. The original building was an unused warehouse in the Wan'an community, and through the joint efforts of community residents, it has become an important base for promoting Chishang rice culture. It offers rich community tours, DIY and travel services, such as kiln baking, rice food DIY, and farmhouse experience tours, as well as bicycles available for rental for visitors. In addition to showcasing farm life, it sells various agricultural specialty products, including Wan'an rice, rice vermicelli, and peeled chili peppers. The second floor features a dining area where visitors can enjoy Hakka specialty dishes and beverages. All of Chishang's unique experiences are available here. The highlight dish on the menu is the rural lunch bowl rice, which consists of steaming hot, fragrant rice paired with authentic Hakka salty pork and delightful pickled sides. The bowl is wrapped in brightly colored Hakka floral cloth, making it distinctive and full of Hakka charm. Rice pearl milk tea, rice pudding, rice cake, and other specialties are unique drinks and desserts from Chishang that visitors should not miss. After enjoying a satisfying meal, visitors can find a variety of agricultural specialty products on the first floor, with carefully selected items to take home.
