Rice Regional Hall Introduction
The Rice Indigenous Museum is located on the east side of the road in the Xin Ka Yuan Lao Tian area of Chihshang, Taitung. The original building was an idle warehouse in the Wan'an community. Through the joint efforts of the community residents, it has become an important base for promoting Chihshang's rice culture, providing rich community tours, DIY activities, and travel services, such as oven cooking, DIY rice dishes, and farming experiential tours. Bicycles are also available for rent for visitors. In addition to showcasing rural life, it sells various agricultural specialties, including Wan'an rice, rice noodles, and rice-skin chili peppers. The second floor features a dining area where visitors can enjoy Hakka specialty dishes and beverages. The unique offerings in Chihshang are all well taken care of here. The highlight on the menu is the rural lunch bowl, which comes with steaming fragrant rice, paired with authentic Hakka salted pork and delicious pickled side dishes. The bowl is wrapped in vibrant Hakka floral fabric, making it both exquisite and full of Hakka charm. Special drinks and desserts like rice pearl milk tea, rice pudding, and rice cake are also rich in Chihshang's特色, which adventurous visitors must not miss. After a satisfying meal, the first floor offers a variety of agricultural specialties, with selected items for visitors to take home.
