Chiu-Chu Chen, a handmade soap expert who has settled in Chihshang for twenty years, focuses on ecological and environmental issues after contemplating the recycling and reuse of waste oil from school lunch programs. Guided by the belief of "making the community I live in more environmentally friendly, healthier, and more suitable for future generations," she fully immersed herself in the creation of handmade soaps. Chiu-Chu studied at her own expense and invested a significant amount of effort, transforming discarded materials into magical eco-friendly soaps, as well as creating everyday cleaning products like salad dressings and laundry detergents. While making handmade soaps, she considers how to connect and develop local characteristics by incorporating the rich natural products and various essences found in the Hualien-Taitung Valley into her simple yet vibrant handmade soaps. She formulates soap and shower gel recipes tailored to different skin types and develops creative art glass soaps and skincare teaching / DIY / handmade soap instructor training. In addition to handmade soap products suitable for bathing and washing the face, she offers a unique opportunity for customers to unleash their creativity and enjoy the hands-on fun of making "String Soap"—using natural materials and executing each process with a meticulous attitude to create unique bars of handmade soap.
