Chulu Ranch Introduction
Chulu Ranch is the largest hilly ranch in Taiwan, where herds of dairy cows leisurely stroll on the lush green pastures. With white fences and red houses set against the blue sky and soft white clouds, it resembles a picturesque European estate that captivates visitors. In addition to dairy cows, Chulu Ranch has introduced pet horses, four-horned sheep, rabbits, and peacocks, allowing travelers to have close encounters with more animals, feed the dairy cows with fresh forage by hand, and enjoy the fun of DIY hands-on experiences. Chulu Ranch produces a variety of rich dairy products from fresh milk, including fresh milk ice cream, milk buns, cheese, and crispy cookies, making it one of the best souvenirs in Taitung. Established in 1973, Chulu Ranch is the oldest large-scale tourist ranch in the Taitung area, covering an area of 67 hectares and located on a plateau with an elevation between 200 and 390 meters, embraced by the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range. The expansive views are refreshing, and a unique grass sliding activity specific to hilly ranches has developed here, which is particularly popular among children. In this natural treasure, a rich and diverse ecosystem coexists, making visitors feel as if they have stepped into a paradise. Walking on the emerald green lawns and leisurely traversing the tranquil tree-lined paths feels like entering the embrace of nature. When the gentle breeze blows and the majestic scenery of mountains and ocean intertwines, it further enchants visitors.
