Muntjac Garden Civet Coffee Introduction

In 1901, Japanese people introduced Arabica coffee from Java, and the experimental fields in Hengchun, Pingtung achieved fruitful results in cultivation. By 1912, it was promoted to areas such as Taitung and Hualien, with related companies like the Eastern Taiwan Coffee Company, Taitung Revitalization Company, and Kimura Coffee's Taiwan Division dedicated to developing the coffee industry in Taiwan. Until the 1980s, Taitung still had nearly 30 hectares of coffee farms with dedicated coffee farmers who adhered to natural farming methods to cultivate fragrant and mellow energy coffee. The ancient name of the Beinan Tribe in Longguomai, Beinan Township, Taitung County (NADANAW) is known for its abundant bamboo forests. Located between the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range (commonly called Jiugang Wind), the Pacific Black Current region experiences the northeast monsoon every winter, when the fragrance of bamboo leaves fills the air, marking the coffee's maturation period. Coffee farmers express gratitude to the land and nature by sharing the joy of the bamboo leaf aroma and the coffee harvest.
