Wild Boar Garden Civet Coffee Introduction
In 1901, the Japanese introduced Arabica coffee from Java, and the cultivation results were fruitful at the experimental farm in Hengchun, Pingtung. By 1912, it was promoted to Taitung, Hualien, and other areas, establishing companies such as the Eastern Taiwan Coffee Company, the Taitung Revitalization Company, and the Kimura Coffee Taiwan Division dedicated to developing the coffee industry in Taiwan. Until the 70th year of the Republic, Taitung still had nearly 30 hectares of coffee farms with simple coffee farmers who followed the laws of nature, cultivating fragrant and mellow energy coffee using natural farming methods. The Beinan Township in Taitung County, specifically the ancient land name of the Puyuma people at Longguomai (NADANAW), is abundant in bamboo forests. Located in the Pacific Black Current region between the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range (commonly known as Jiugang Wind), during the northeastern monsoon in winter, the aroma of bamboo leaves signifies the maturity of coffee. The coffee farmers express their gratitude to the land and nature, sharing the joy of the aroma of bamboo leaves and the coffee harvest.
