Malanshan Station Introduction
The early Malan Station was built as a wooden structure before the eastward expansion, but during the widening of the East Line, it was rebuilt into the brick and cement station building seen today. Malan Station primarily served freight, with the main sources of cargo coming from the nearby CPC oil depot and Taitung Sugar Factory. However, as the sugar factory closed and CPC switched to road transport, Malan Station ultimately faced decommissioning. After its closure, the tracks of Malan Station were converted into a bicycle path, connecting with the old Taitung Station, and the platform has become a popular rest stop for tourists cycling by. The well-preserved platform and station building attract visitors eager to take photos and create wonderful memories. If you have the opportunity to visit Taitung City, consider including Malan Station in your itinerary, where you can leisurely bike and explore the scenic railway views along the way.
