Malanzhan Station Introduction
The original Malan Station was a wooden structure before the eastern line expansion, but it was rebuilt into the brick and cement station building seen today during the widening of the Eastern Line. Malan Station primarily focused on freight transportation, with its main sources being the CPC oil storage facility adjacent to the station and the Taitung Sugar Factory. However, with the closure of the sugar factory and the CPC shifting to road transportation, Malan Station was eventually discontinued. After its closure, the railway tracks of Malan Station were transformed into a bicycle path, connecting it seamlessly to the old Taitung Station. The platform has also become a midway resting spot for tourists riding bicycles. The well-preserved platform and station structure have become popular spots for visitors to take photos and create wonderful memories. If you have the opportunity to visit Taitung City, consider including Malan Station in your itinerary, where you can leisurely ride a bicycle and explore the beautiful railway scenery along the way.
