Malang Station Introduction
The original Malan Station was a wooden structure before the expansion to the east, but it was rebuilt into the brick and cement station building seen today during the expansion of the Eastern Line. Malan Station mainly served cargo operations, with the largest sources of goods being the CPC oil depot next to the station and the Taitung Sugar Factory. However, with the closure of the sugar factory and CPC switching to road transport, Malan Station eventually became discontinued. After its discontinuation, the railway tracks of Malan Station were converted into a bicycle path, connecting seamlessly with the old station in Taitung, and the platform has also become a resting spot for tourists while enjoying a leisurely bike ride. The well-preserved platform and station building have become a popular spot for tourists to take photos and create beautiful memories. If you have the opportunity to visit Taitung City, consider including Malan Station in your itinerary, where you can ride a bicycle and leisurely explore the scenic railway views along the way.
