Malang Station Introduction
The early Malan Station had a wooden station building before the eastward expansion. During the expansion of the East Line, it was rebuilt into the brick and concrete station building seen today. Malan Station mainly focused on freight transportation, with the main cargo sources being the CPC oil depot next to the station and the Taitung Sugar Factory. However, with the closure of the sugar factory and CPC's shift to road transportation, Malan Station eventually faced discontinuation. After its closure, the tracks of Malan Station were transformed into a bicycle path, connecting seamlessly with the old Taitung Station. The platform has also become a rest stop for tourists riding their bicycles. The well-preserved platform and station building are popular spots for visitors to take photos and create wonderful memories. If you have the chance to visit Taitung City, consider including Malan Station in your itinerary; you can leisurely ride your bicycle and enjoy the scenic railway views along the way.
