Malin Station Introduction
The early Malan Station had a wooden station building before the eastward expansion, but during the widening of the eastern line, it was rebuilt into the brick and cement station building seen today. Malan Station primarily focused on freight services, with the main sources being the CPC oil depot and the Taitung Sugar Factory nearby. However, with the closure of the sugar factory and the CPC switching to road transport, Malan Station eventually became discontinued. After its closure, the tracks of Malan Station were transformed into a bike path, connecting seamlessly with the old Taitung Station, and the platform has become a rest stop for cyclists enjoying their ride. The well-preserved platform and station building have become popular spots for tourists to take photos and create lasting memories. If you have the chance to visit Taitung City, consider including Malan Station in your itinerary. You can leisurely ride a bicycle and explore the beautiful railway scenery along the way.
