Malanzai Station Introduction
The early Malan Station had a wooden station building before the eastern expansion, but it was rebuilt into the brick and cement station building seen today during the widening of the Eastern Line. Malan Station primarily focused on freight services, with the main sources of freight being the nearby CPC oil depot and Taitung Sugar Factory. However, with the closure of the sugar factory and CPC's shift to road transport, Malan Station eventually faced closure. After its closure, the railway tracks were converted into a bicycle path, connecting with Taitung Old Station, and the platform became a resting stop for tourists cycling along. The well-preserved platform and station building have become popular spots for tourists to take photos and create beautiful memories. If you have the opportunity to visit Taitung City, consider including Malan Station in your itinerary, where you can leisurely ride a bicycle and explore the scenic railway views along the way.
