Taitung Transportation Station Introduction
The old railway station in Taitung City has undergone several transitions since its decommissioning. The original platform has been transformed into the starting point of the Taitung Mountain-Sea Bicycle Path and the Railway Art Village, providing a recreational space for visitors to stroll after meals. The former waiting room has been renovated into a Tourist Service Center, offering domestic and international travelers tourism advice, scenic area information, presentations or multimedia displays, explanations, emergency notifications, and related consultation services, making it the primary and crucial contact point for travelers. Acknowledging the confusion caused by the disorganized bus information and varying departure locations in Taitung, the Taitung County Government has collaborated with the I+T International Charm Node Project to convert the old station into a Taitung Transfer Station and Tourist Service Center. This initiative integrates the concept of I (Information) plus T (Transport), combining tourism service information with bus transportation, standardizing starting points for all bus routes, and providing travel consultation and fare information for the convenience of visitors and locals.
