Taitung Transit Station Introduction
The old train station in Taitung City has undergone several changes since its decommissioning. The original platform has been transformed into the starting point of the Taitung Mountain and Sea Bicycle Path and the Railway Art Village, providing a place for visitors and locals to relax and stroll after meals. Meanwhile, the former waiting room has been converted into a tourist information center, offering domestic and international travelers consultation services for sightseeing, travel information about scenic areas, presentations or multimedia displays, explanations, emergency notifications, and related inquiry services, making it the most important contact point for travelers. In light of the chaotic public bus information and the differing departure points, which caused inconvenience for visitors and locals, the Taitung County Government, in line with the I+T International Charm Hub project, has renovated the original station into the Taitung Transfer Station and Tourist Information Center. This brings together the concepts of I (Information) and T (Transport), integrating travel service information with road transportation, unifying the departure points of various buses, and providing travel advice, boarding, and ticketing information to facilitate visitors and locals.
