Taitung Transit Station Introduction
The old train station in Taitung City has undergone several changes since it was decommissioned. The original platform has been transformed into the starting point of the Taitung Mountain-Sea Bicycle Path and the Railway Art Village, providing a leisure walking space for tourists and locals. The former waiting room has been converted into a tourism service center, offering domestic and international travelers tourism consultation services, scenic area travel information, presentations or multimedia displays, explanations, emergency notifications, and related consultation services, making it the main and vital contact point for visitors. In light of the chaotic bus information and varying departure points in Taitung, the Taitung County Government, in cooperation with the I+T International Charm Point project, has renovated the original station into the Taitung Transfer Station and tourism service center. This concept, combining Information (I) with Transport (T), integrates tourism service information with road transportation, unifying the departure points of all bus routes and providing travel consultation and ticketing information, facilitating convenience for tourists and locals.
