Tiehua Village Introduction
The Taitung Old Railway Station, located in the center of Taitung City, handed over its role as a transportation hub to the new station in 2001. After efforts from the county government and local initiatives, the area around the old station successfully transformed into the Tiehua Village, becoming a cultural and trendy center in Taitung. A walk in the evening through Tiehua Village, adorned with colorful hot air balloons, has become one of the must-do experiences for visitors to Taitung. The Tiehua Village includes TTstyle Original Pavilion, Railway Art Village, Showtimes Cinema, Taitung Transfer Station, and a marketplace. Various artistic and cultural events are held periodically, filling Taitung with abundant fun and creative atmosphere! Tiehua Village hosts exciting music performances and creative workshops, along with specialty food markets, providing a space for creative talents to showcase their work, effectively becoming a hub for music in Taitung. The TTstyle Original Pavilion, also known as the Wave House, features a design concept inspired by the mountains and sea of Taitung, with bold, sweeping curves that resemble the movement of ocean waves and the grandeur of layered peaks. The totem design of the Grace Pillar below records the lifestyle and culture of the indigenous ancestors. The overall structure of the pavilion is made of containers and steel bars, attracting more than a dozen indigenous handmade original product shops and specialty dining establishments, forming a new hub for creativity in Taitung. In recent years, the county government has actively collaborated with the Taiwan Railways Administration and local businesses to promote the Tiehua Village as an international tourism attraction.
