Pacific Park Introduction
Pacific Park includes the South and North Coastlines. The South Coast Park was home to the Hualien Night Market for 28 years, serving both locals and tourists. After the vendors relocated, the area underwent renovation and now greets visitors with a fresh look. The South and North Coastlines were once private spots for locals to enjoy the ocean, and post-renovation, not only has landscaping been enhanced, but the artificial reefs that previously prevented coastal erosion have been removed, replaced by natural methods using large stones to form natural embankments, giving the coastline a more international scenic appearance. The South Coast Park is composed of several green spaces adorned with indigenous-style pavilions and decorations, with a bike path closest to the coastline. Though the North Coast Park does not have as much land as the South Coast Park, its planned beach volleyball area is a favorite among the youth. The South and North Coast Parks can be connected to form a short cycling route, contributing to the beautiful coastal landscape of Hualien City. Activities in Pacific Park are lively both day and night; during the day, visitors can bike, enjoy the ocean, or take a walk, while at night, the focus shifts to dining, listening to the waves, and stargazing. Pacific Park transforms the recreational area, restoring natural landforms and coastal vegetation, and offers a space for family puppet theaters, street performers, indigenous dance performances, and Ami cultural festivals. During holidays, markets showcasing agricultural products, quality lifestyle industries, and cultural creative industries are held, alongside spaces for green technology activities.
