Pacific Park Introduction
Pacific Park includes the South and North Beaches. The South Beach Park was formerly the site of the South Beach Night Market, which had accompanied the people of Hualien and tourists from outside for 28 years. After the vendors relocated, the area underwent renovation and now greets visitors with a brand-new appearance. The coastal lines of the South and North Beaches were once private spots for locals to enjoy the sea. After the renovation, in addition to increased greenery and landscaping, the man-made reef structures that previously prevented coastal erosion were removed and replaced with natural methods using large stones to form natural dikes, enhancing the coastline's international aesthetic. The South Beach Park is connected by several green spaces, decorated with indigenous-style pavilions and ornaments, while the bike path runs closest to the coastline. Although the North Beach Park does not have as much space as the South Beach Park, its planned beach volleyball courts are a favorite among the young crowd. The South and North Beach Parks can be linked together to create a short cycling route, adding a beautiful coastal landscape to the urban area of Hualien City. Activities at the Pacific Landscape Park are vibrant both day and night. During the day, visitors can ride bicycles, enjoy the sea, and take walks, while at night the focus shifts to dining, listening to the waves, and stargazing. The Pacific Landscape Park transforms park recreation into a vibrant area, promoting natural topography and coastal plant restoration, while providing a venue for children's puppet theater, street performers, indigenous dance performances, and Amis cultural festival activities. During holidays, markets are held to exhibit agricultural products, high-quality lifestyle industries, and cultural and creative industries, creating a space for green technology initiatives.
