Dongdaemun International Tourist Night Market Introduction
Hualien Dongdamen Night Market includes four parts: Fucheng Night Market, a street featuring foods from various provinces in mainland China, Indigenous Peoples Street, and Zi-Qiang Night Market. The Dongdamen Night Market is located in the Phase 6 Development Zone, and can be reached by taking a bus from Hualien Train Station. The night market walkways are paved with Indian black granite paired with Quanzhou white granite, with each square tile measuring 1.5 meters in length and width, and a thickness of 10 centimeters. Special cranes were used during construction to handle the heavy tiles, which are resistant to damage even after years of pedestrian traffic. Fucheng Night Market: features a variety of authentic Taiwanese street food and toys, including stinky tofu, grilled sausages, fresh juice, pinball machines, and dart games. Indigenous Peoples Street: built with wood and bamboo materials, it exudes a natural and primitive charm. Offerings include fresh wild vegetables, stir-fried wild boar, stone-grilled meat, A Li Bang Bang, and special millet wine, allowing visitors to relive the delicious flavors of tribal cuisine while also providing indigenous neighbors a sense of familiarity with their hometown. The street featuring foods from various provinces in mainland China: constructed with charming old red bricks and adorned with large red lanterns, it has a strong nostalgic atmosphere. It will continue to host vendors selling specialty dishes from provinces such as Guangdong, Guangxi, Henan, Hebei, Hunan, and Jiangxi in the future. Zi-Qiang Night Market: Most vendors are located in the latter half of Indigenous Peoples Street, often comprising well-known, long-established eateries that have been deeply rooted in the community for decades, attracting a steady stream of visitors.
