Sunshine Power City Introduction
Sunshine Power City was originally the site of the old Hualien Railway Station's repair shop. With the relocation of the old station and after some planning, it was transformed into a building primarily for solar power generation. In 2015, after a re-painting and greening project, along with the surrounding night market and a bicycle path connecting to the Pacific Ocean, it has become one of the new recreational attractions. The eye-catching murals combined with the blue sky and white clouds bring a sense of sunshine and joy, in line with the name "Sunshine Power City." It retains the early railway's old appearance, ensuring that the historical traces are not erased. Linked to the coastal landscape park from the city area to the Pacific Ocean, visitors can leisurely stroll along the lush green paths without being disturbed by the bustling traffic, reaching the scenic park and seaside pavilion, accompanied by the salty sea air and the sound of the waves. Whether locals or tourists, everyone comes here to enjoy the sea breeze, walk, exercise, or ride bikes. It is a great place with historical significance and recreational opportunities.
