Sunshine Power City Introduction
Sunshine Electric City was originally the site of the Hualien Old Railway Station's maintenance depot. With the relocation of the old train station and after some planning, it has been transformed into a building primarily focused on solar energy generation. After being repainted and greenery completed in 2015, along with the nearby night market and the bike path connecting to the Pacific Ocean, it has become one of the new recreational spots. The vibrant murals against the blue sky and white clouds evoke the feelings of sunshine and cheerfulness, which perfectly align with the name "Sunshine Electric City." It retains the old appearance of the early railways, ensuring that the historical traces are not erased. Connected from the city to the Pacific Landscape Park, visitors can leisurely stroll along the lush green paths without being disturbed by the hustle and bustle, walking to the scenic park and seaside pavilion, enjoying the salty sea air and the sound of the waves. Whether locals or tourists, many come here to enjoy the sea breeze, walk, exercise, or ride bikes, making it a great place with historical charm and recreational opportunities.
