Sunny Hills Solar City Introduction
Sunlight Electricity Town was originally the location of the Hualien Old Railway Station's repair shop. With the relocation of the old train station and after a period of planning, it was transformed into a building focused on solar power generation. In 2015, after the completion of its repainting and greening, it became one of the new recreational spots, complemented by the surrounding night market and a bicycle path connecting to the Pacific Ocean. The vibrant murals against the backdrop of blue skies and white clouds evoke a sense of sunshine and joy, in line with the name "Sunlight Electricity Town." It retains the early appearance of the railway, ensuring that the historical traces are not erased. Connecting the urban area to the Pacific Landscape Park, visitors can leisurely stroll along the charming green paths to the scenic park and seaside pavilion without the disturbance of traffic, enjoying the salty sea breeze and the sound of the waves. Whether a local or a tourist, people come here to enjoy the sea breeze, take strolls, exercise, or ride bicycles, making it a great place with historical significance and leisure activities.
