Batongguan Trail and Luming Suspension Bridge Introduction
The Batongguan Trail section of the Luming Suspension Bridge is located in Zhuoxi Township, Hualien County. It is the easternmost segment of the Batongguan Historic Trail from the Japanese occupation period. This trail runs from the Luming Suspension Bridge along the north bank of the Laku Laku River to Zhuole Elementary School, with a total length of about 2,700 meters. The path is flat and easy to walk, taking approximately two hours for a one-way walk, and about four hours for a round trip. The entire Batongguan Trail section of the Luming Suspension Bridge is situated within a broadleaf forest, featuring gentle slopes and making it easy to traverse. Along the way, visitors can observe subtropical plant ecology, enjoy the magnificent beauty of the Laku Laku River, and learn about the Batongguan Historic Trail and Bunun culture and history, making it a scenic trail that blends natural resources with cultural history. Transportation information: (1) To reach the west entrance: Follow Provincial Highway 30, passing by Nan'an Waterfall, and after about 2.5 kilometers on the right side, walk down the slope for about 500 meters to see the Luming Suspension Bridge. After crossing the bridge, you will arrive at the west entrance of the Batongguan Trail section of the Luming Suspension Bridge. (2) To reach the east entrance: Follow Provincial Highway 30, turn right at the signs, and take the industrial road behind Zhuole Elementary School (about 2.5 kilometers by car) to reach the east entrance of the Batongguan Trail section of the Luming Suspension Bridge.
