Nanhua Forestry Culture Park (Nanhua Forest Park) Introduction
Behind the Nantou Forestry Bureau's Nanhua Work Station is the Nanhua Forestry Cultural Park, which preserves a natural ecological landscape. The park was formerly a timber storage and processing site, and during the 1950s to 1970s, it was an important timber distribution center in Hualien. In 2006, approximately 7 hectares of the park were replanned, planting tree species such as camphor, sweet gum, Paulownia fortunei, Paulownia tomentosa, duckweed vine, white paperbark tree, and Taitung combretum. The park is also home to various birds such as black-crowned night herons, ring-necked pheasants, and little egrets, showcasing a rich diversity of flora and fauna.
