Nanhua Forestry Culture Park (Nanhua Forest Park) Introduction
Behind the Nanhua Work Station of the Forestry Bureau is the Nanhua Forestry Cultural Park, which preserves natural ecological landscapes. The park was formerly a lumber storage and processing site and served as an important distribution center for timber in Hualien from the 1950s to the 1970s. In 2006, approximately 7 hectares of the park were replanned, with the planting of tree species such as camphor, sweet gum, Paulownia fortunei, three-year-old Paulownia, dragon vine, white-layered tree, and Taitung fire thorn. The park is also home to rich varieties of wildlife, including black-crowned night herons, ring-necked pheasants, and little egrets.
