The largest island in the Penghu North Sea, Shawei Bay features a stretch of golden beach several kilometers long along the coastline, where the blue sky and azure sea complement the golden shoreline beautifully. Jibei Sandbar extends from Xikanshan towards the southeast, and at its end, the influence of ocean currents has formed a sandbar that extends into the sea, resembling a golden-white spoon in the ocean when viewed from above.

Jibeishawwei Introduction

Jibei Sandbar is located on Jibei Island in Beisha Township to the north. The most famous feature of the island is the sandbar, which is 800 meters long and 300 meters wide, attracting a lot of attention. The sandy beach extends into the sea, with the blue sea and sky reflecting against the golden coast, and there are vacation cabins available for accommodation, making it a popular spot for summer vacations, honeymoons, and water activities. The coastal erosion caused by ocean currents, waves, and tides transports fallen rock debris and gravel to suitable locations for accumulation. Over time, this process creates various marine accumulation landforms such as beaches, sandbanks, sandbars, and land-connecting islands. The beautiful and unique sandbar of Jibei has formed in this way. The sandbar extends outward, accumulating thousands of meters of beach, presenting a long shape and covered with golden sand, which is why it’s also referred to as "Jibei's Golden Sandbar." Not only is it adjacent to the azure coast, but there are also green coastal plants nearby, making it very picturesque. The color of the sea ranges from light blue to deep blue, complemented by the golden sandy beach.
