Penghu's largest island in the northern sea, Shawei Bay features a golden bay that stretches for thousands of meters along the shoreline, where the blue sky and clear sea beautifully contrast with the golden coast. Jibei Sandbar extends from Xikanshan towards the southeast, and the end of the sandbar, influenced by ocean currents, forms a protrusion into the sea. From above, it resembles a golden-white spoon in the ocean.

Jibei Sandbar Introduction

Jibei Sandbar is located on Jibei Island, north of Baisha Township. The most famous feature of the island is its sandbar, which is 800 meters long and 300 meters wide, attracting many visitors. The sandy tail stretches into the sea, creating a stunning contrast of blue skies and golden coastline. There are vacation cabins available for accommodation, making it a popular destination for summer holidays, honeymoons, and water activities. The coastal erosion caused by ocean currents, waves, and tides transports eroded rock fragments and gravel to suitable locations, gradually forming beach, sandbank, sandbar, and other marine accumulative landforms. The unique and beautiful sandbar of Jibei was formed through this process. Extending outward, the sandbar accumulates a beach several thousand meters long, presenting a long shape filled with golden sand, hence it is also known as “Golden Sandbar of Jibei.” It is not only adjacent to the azure coastline but also surrounded by green coastal plants, making it very picturesque.
