Qingluo Wetland Introduction
Qingluo Wetland is located on the northern shore of Huxi Township and is one of the important ecological sensitive areas, also designated as a national wetland. It is divided into four areas from north to south: Qingluo Sandbar Coastal Area, Mangrove Rehabilitation Area, Qingluo Fish Pond Habitat, and Hongluowan Intertidal Zone. The wetland covers a vast area and features diverse coastal wetland types, including rocky reefs, gravel coasts, sandy beaches, muddy shores, mangroves, tide pools, sandbars, and fish ponds, making it an important national wetland. The freshwater source here flows from Hutou Mountain and passes south of Qingluo Village, flowing into the sea at Luojing Mountain. Silt gradually accumulates in the shallow waters near the coast, forming the vast coastal wetland present today. In the 1990s, the Penghu County Government rehabilitated mangroves around the wetland, and has since successfully trialed the planting of three types of mangroves, leading to good results. It has now become the largest mangrove wetland in Penghu. Qingluo Wetland not only serves as Penghu's largest mangrove rehabilitation area but is also one of the important habitats for birds in Penghu. Every year, over a hundred bird species and thousands of migratory birds winter or pass through here, offering rich natural and cultural ecological resources. [Recommended stay duration] 1 hour
