Qingluo Wetland Introduction
Qingluo Wetlands are located on the northern coast of Huxi Township, and are one of the important ecological sensitive areas, designated as a national wetland. It is divided into four zones from north to south, including Qingluo Sandbar Coastal Area, Mangrove Restoration Area, Qingluo Fish Pond Habitat, and Hongluo Bay Intertidal Zone. The area is vast and features diverse coastal wetland types, including rocky reefs and gravel shores, beaches and mud coasts, as well as mangroves, tidal pools, sandbars, and fish ponds, making it a nationally significant wetland. The freshwater source here flows from Huxi Mountain through the southern side of the Qingluo settlement, where sediment gradually accumulates on the shallow shores, forming the currently expansive coastal wetland. In the 1990s, the Penghu County Government began restoring the mangrove forests around the wetland and has since successfully trialed three types of mangroves, which have thrived, gradually forming a forest. It is now the largest mangrove wetland in Penghu. In addition to being the largest mangrove restoration area in Penghu, Qingluo Wetlands are also an important habitat for birds, with over a hundred bird species and thousands of migratory or wintering birds visiting each year, boasting rich natural and cultural ecological resources. 【Recommended stay time】 1 hour
