Qingluo Wetland Introduction
The Qingsuo Wetlands are located on the northern coast of Huxi Township and are one of the important ecological sensitive areas, as well as a national wetland. The area is divided into four zones from north to south: the Qingsuo Sandbar Coastal Zone, the Mangrove Restoration Zone, the Qingsuo Fishpond Habitat, and the Hongluo Bay Intertidal Zone. It covers a vast area with diverse coastal wetland types, including rocky and gravel coasts, sandy beaches, and muddy coasts, as well as mangroves, tidal pools, sandbars, and fishponds, making it an important national wetland. The freshwater source here flows from Hutoushan through the south side of the Qingsuo settlement to the sea, with silt gradually accumulating on the shallow beach, forming the current expansive coastal wetland. In the 1990s, the Penghu County Government restored mangrove forests around the wetland, and successfully tested the planting of three types of mangroves, which had good results and gradually formed a forest; it is now the largest mangrove wetland in Penghu. The Qingsuo Wetlands not only serve as the largest mangrove restoration area in Penghu but also as one of the important habitats for birds in Penghu, with over a hundred bird species and thousands of migratory birds spending the winter or passing through each year, boasting rich natural and cultural ecological resources. 【Recommended stay time】 1 hour.
