Qingluo Wetlands Introduction
The Qingsuo Wetland is located on the northern shore of Lake West Township and is one of the important ecological sensitive areas, as well as a national-level wetland. Divided into four areas from north to south, it includes the Qingsuo Sandbar Coastal Area, the Mangrove Restoration Area, the Qingsuo Fish Pond Habitat, and the Hongluowan Intertidal Zone. It has a vast area and diverse coastal wetland types, including reefs, pebble coasts, sandy beaches, and muddy coasts, as well as mangroves, tide pools, sandbars, and fish ponds, making it an important national wetland. The freshwater source here flows from Hutoshan through the southern part of the Qingsuo settlement into the sea, with sediment gradually accumulating in the shallow waters along the coast, forming the extensive coastal wetland seen today. In the 1990s, the Penghu County government restored mangroves around the wetland, gradually trying to cultivate three species of mangroves with good results, which have now formed a forest, making it the largest mangrove wetland in Penghu. The Qingsuo Wetland, aside from being the largest mangrove restoration area in Penghu, is also one of the important bird habitats in the region, with over a hundred bird species and thousands of wintering or migratory birds each year, boasting rich natural and cultural ecological resources. 【Recommended Stay Time】 1 hour
