Qingluo Wetland Introduction
Qingluo Wetland is located on the northern shore of Luksui Township and is one of the important ecological sensitive areas, designated as a national wetland. It is divided into four zones from north to south, including the Qingluo Sandbar Coastal Area, the Mangrove Rehabilitation Area, the Qingluo Fish Pond Habitat, and the Hongluowan Intertidal Zone. The area is vast and features various types of coastal wetlands, such as rocky and gravel coasts, beaches, mud coasts, as well as mangroves, tidal pools, sands bars, and fish ponds, making it a nationally significant wetland. The freshwater source here flows from Hujia Mountain through the southern part of Qingluo Village into the sea, where sediment gradually accumulates in shallow waters, forming the current expansive coastal wetland. In the 1990s, the Penghu County Government rehabilitated the mangrove forests around the wetland, successively planting three species of mangroves with good results, gradually forming a forest. It is now the largest mangrove wetland in Penghu. Besides being the largest mangrove rehabilitation area in Penghu, Qingluo Wetland is also one of the most important habitats for birds in Penghu, hosting over a hundred bird species and thousands of migratory birds that winter or stop over here each year, nurturing rich natural and cultural ecological resources. 【Recommended stay time】 1 hour
