Qingluo Cape Introduction
Qingluo Sandbar Wetland is one of the special ecological attractions in Penghu. Located on the northwest coast of Huzhoushan near Qingluo Village, there is a hook-shaped sandy beach, which is a rare marine accumulation landform in Penghu. Qingluo Village boasts extensive wetlands where migratory birds frequently come for feeding during spring and autumn. Qingluo Sandbar is the largest sandbar formation on Penghu Island, featuring beautiful scenery and serving as a breeding ground for the protected summer migrant bird, the little tern. The significance of the landscape and habitat is evident. The surrounding intertidal zone is rich in resources; during low tide, many local residents can be seen collecting shellfish here. This area is the largest mangrove conservation zone in Penghu and is home to the newly recorded species in Taiwan, the colorful fiddler crab, which surprises ecological experts. It also has an abundance of bird species, including a birdwatching area for enthusiasts. The extensive area makes it one of the crucial habitats for birds in Penghu, where the little tern, a protected species, breeds.
