Chinglor Sandbar Introduction
Qingluo Sandbar Wetland is one of the unique ecological attractions in Penghu. On the northwest coast of Hutou Mountain, north of Qingluo Village, there is a hook-shaped sandy beach, which is a rare coastal landform in Penghu. Qingluo Village has vast wetlands, where migratory birds often come to forage during spring and autumn. Qingluo Sandbar is the largest sandbar formation on Penghu Island, noted for its beautiful scenery and as a breeding ground for the endangered migratory bird, the Little Tern. The preciousness of its landscape and habitat is evident. Surrounded by a resource-rich intertidal zone, during low tide, you can see many local residents collecting shellfish here. This area is the largest mangrove conservation zone in Penghu and is home to the newly recorded species in Taiwan, the Beautiful Fiddler Crab, which has amazed ecological experts. It also boasts a rich bird population, including a dedicated birdwatching area. The expansive area is one of the important habitats for birds in Penghu, where the Little Tern breeds, making it one of the largest habitats and wintering grounds for birds in Penghu.
