Zhu Wan Crab Museum Introduction
Located next to the Dayi Temple in Zhuwan, Xiyu Township, Penghu, the museum covers an area of over a hundred ping and houses hundreds of species of shrimp and crabs, with thousands of specimens and live specimens on display, making it the largest in the country. The collection of crabs in the museum is the result of six years of hard work by curator Chen Hongtu, who has employed unique techniques developed through years of research to prepare the crab specimens. The diverse array of shrimp and crabs on display is truly breathtaking. Curator Chen Hongtu, a resident of Zhuwan in Xiyu, has been involved with crabs for over ten years. Most of the crabs in the collection are from the waters of Penghu, with some collected from around the world, including the largest, heaviest, most poisonous, and fastest crabs, as well as those that can climb trees or have the facial features of Guan Gong, and crabs with horns. Additionally, there are eyeless shrimps from the deep sea and the largest lobsters, among many other rare and peculiar shrimp and crabs that are too numerous to mention, providing an experience you could never imagine seeing in person at the Zhuwan Crab Museum.
