Chiayi Railway Art Village Introduction
The Chayi Railway Art Village, originally an idle railway warehouse, was transformed into a creative and exhibition venue for art under government planning, starting in September 2000. The initiative aims to establish a space for various artistic exchanges and activities, combining local characteristics and community building to realize the ideal goal of the Railway Art Village. The warehouse includes twelve storage rooms arranged in a long strip form oriented north-south, with seven being managed by the Railway Bureau for freight services, covering a total indoor area of about 2,565 square meters. The indoor and outdoor spaces are planned for creation, exhibition, performance, and educational promotion purposes, creating an artistic atmosphere around the railway, serving as an alternative space for art performances. Getting there by train or after the train station: 1. Take a train to Chiayi Station, then ride city bus No. 7 towards the back train station (the initial transfer center), alight at the Railway Art Village Station, and walk about 10 minutes to arrive. 2. Take a train to Chiayi Station, then ride city bus No. 1 (or No. 1A) towards Chiayi Veterans Hospital (or the 228 National Memorial Park), alight at the Railway Art Village Station, and walk about 10 minutes to arrive. 3. Take an intercity bus to the back train station, then ride city bus No. 7 towards Dajia Station, alight at the Railway Art Village Station, and walk about 10 minutes to arrive. Walking from the train station: After disembarking at Chiayi Station, walk about 8 minutes to arrive. High-speed rail: 1. Take the high-speed rail to Chiayi Station, then take BRT routes 7211 or 7212 to Chiayi Back Station, and ride city bus No. 7 towards Dajia Station, alight at the Railway Art Village Station, and walk about 10 minutes to arrive. 2.
