Chiayi Railway Art Village Introduction
The Chiayi Railway Arts Village, originally an abandoned railway warehouse, was planned by the city government and began its transformation into an arts creation and exhibition space in September 2000. This initiative aims to combine local characteristics and community development through cultural and artistic performances, creating an environment that fosters artistic exchange and enjoyment. The railway warehouse consists of twelve storage rooms arranged in a long, narrow building group oriented north-south. Among these, seven are managed by the Railway Bureau's freight service, with an indoor area of approximately 2,565 square meters, designated for various purposes such as creation, exhibition, performance, and educational promotion. It aims to establish an artistic atmosphere and landscape around the railway, becoming an alternative space for artistic performances. To reach the Railway Arts Village from the train station or rear train station: 1. Take a train to Chiayi Station, then take the city bus route 7 to the rear train station (the initial transfer center) and get off at the Railway Arts Village Station, followed by a 10-minute walk. 2. Take a train to Chiayi Station, then take city bus route 1 (or 1A) to Chiayi Veterans Hospital (or 228 National Memorial Park) and get off at the Railway Arts Village Station, followed by a 10-minute walk. 3. Take a passenger bus to the rear train station, then take city bus route 7 to Daya Station and get off at the Railway Arts Village Station, followed by a 10-minute walk. Walking from the train station: A walk of about 8 minutes from Chiayi Station will reach the destination. From the High-Speed Rail: 1. After getting off at Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station, take the BRT routes 7211 or 7212 to the Chiayi Rear Station, and then take city bus route 7 to Daya Station, getting off at the Railway Arts Village Station and walking about 10 minutes. 2. After getting off at Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station, take the BRT routes 7211 or 7212 to the Chiayi Rear Station, then take city bus route 1 (or 1A) to the Railway Arts Village Station and walk about 10 minutes. 3. After getting off at Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station, take the BRT routes 7211 or 7212 to the Chiayi Rear Station and walk about 8 minutes to reach the site.
