Sleeping Forest Theme Park Introduction
The small park in front of Beimen Station and next to Yushan Inn has been around since the Japanese colonial period. Illustrator SMART (Chuang Hsin-tang) designed a series of Q-version animal shapes, including a white bear, pink elephant, fox, owl, penguin, and squirrel, with the theme "Sleeping Forest." This design integrates the existing green trees, air raid shelter, and streetlights, creating a vibrant yet tranquil forest atmosphere as visitors stroll through. The entrance features a cherry blossom iron arch, echoing the image of Beimen Station as the gateway to Alishan; birdcage and owl-shaped streetlight decorations include stars, moon, and sun motifs. The 50-year-old wax apple tree and the nostalgia-inducing air raid shelter are adorned with colorful lights, creating stunning light illusions that make the night enchanting.
