Founded in 1953, Jia Xiang Wei has been a staple in Chiayi for over half a century, meticulously handcrafted from carefully selected fresh ingredients to create nutritious and delicious treats. It carries on the confectionery arts learned by the founder from the Japanese during the Japanese occupation, starting from traditional yokan to buns, snowflake cakes, sweet potatoes, and innovative square pastries. Among them, the nostalgic Nankin Snowflake Cake features premium cream filling, available in lemon and pineapple flavors, and is topped with a layer of powdered sugar that resembles snowflakes, hence the name. Soft and fluffy, it melts in your mouth and can even be enjoyed frozen in the summer, offering a taste akin to ice cream cake. This is a beloved flavor of Chiayi that has accompanied us for 60 years.
