Yuanliao Coastal Park (Lanwan Coastal Recreation Area) Introduction
Yenliao Coastal Park (Blue Bay Coastal Recreation Area) located in Gongliao District, New Taipei City, covers an area of 80 hectares, making it the largest recreational spot in the Northeast Coast area. The golden coastline stretches for 3 kilometers to Fulong, surpassing all of Taiwan, and is suitable for various recreational activities such as swimming, sand sculpting, beach volleyball, and shore fishing. Yenliao was the first landing site during the Japanese colonization of Taiwan, and beside the beach stands the 8.8-meter tall "Yenliao Anti-Japanese Monument," solemnly commemorating the brave martyrs who resisted the Japanese army's landing, evoking deep sentiments. The area is well-equipped with public facilities and will eventually connect with Fulong to form a complete recreational corridor, featuring scenic platforms, walking paths, and bike lanes, offering various leisure options even when swimming is not the activity of choice.
