Yanliao Coastal Park (Lanwan Coastal Recreation Area) Introduction
Yenliao Coastal Park (Lanwan Coastal Recreation Area), located in Gongliao District, New Taipei City, covers an area of 80 hectares and is the largest recreational attraction in the Northeast Coast. Stretching 3 kilometers to the golden coast of Fulong, it boasts the best beach in Taiwan, suitable for a variety of recreational activities such as swimming, sand sculpting, beach volleyball, and surf fishing. Yenliao was the first landing site during Japan's colonial rule of Taiwan, and a 8.8-meter tall "Yenliao Anti-Japanese Memorial" stands by the beach to honor the brave heroes who resisted the Japanese invasion, evoking deep reflection. The area is well-equipped with public facilities and will soon be connected to Fulong, creating a complete recreational corridor with scenic platforms, trails, and bike paths along the route, offering numerous recreational options even when not swimming.
