Aodi Fishing Port Introduction
Aodi Fishing Port is located in the Zhenli Village of Gongliao District, New Taipei City. During the Japanese colonial period, a small sheltered harbor was built here. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, Aodi is a natural bay with a seabed primarily composed of rock, which minimizes the issues with drifting sand. The conditions for building a port are excellent, allowing local and visiting vessels to dock during fishing seasons or typhoons. In recent years, in line with tourism policies, Aodi has developed its tourism fishing industry, boosting the area's development and making it one of the important fishing ports along the Northeast Coast Highway. Thanks to its favorable geographical conditions, Aodi is rich in seafood resources, including marine plants such as stone flower, seaweed, and kelp, making it a major seafood distribution center on the northeast coast. A seafood street less than a kilometer long boasts over a dozen seafood shops, offering fresh and affordable seafood. The primary catches include swordfish, red snapper, small squid, octopus, lobster, and grouper, which has led to the establishment of many seafood restaurants nearby. Additionally, Aodi Fishing Port has expanded its facilities to include a fish market, a freezing plant, a gas station, and a ship repair yard, making it fully functional and allowing visitors to truly enjoy the cultural atmosphere of the fishing port, establishing Aodi Fishing Port as a key seafood distribution hub on the northeast coast.
