Aodi Fishing Port Introduction
Aodi Fishing Port is located in the Zhenlili area of Gongliao District, New Taipei City. It was established as a small harbor during the Japanese colonial period. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, Aodi is a natural bay with a seabed primarily composed of rock, which minimizes the issue of drifting sand. The conditions for building a harbor are favorable, allowing local and visiting fishing vessels to dock during fishing seasons or typhoons. In recent years, in line with tourism policies, Aodi has developed into a tourist fishery, boosting the region's development, and has become one of the important fishing ports along the Northeast Coast Highway. Due to excellent geographical conditions, Aodi boasts rich fishery resources and is home to marine plants such as stone flower, purple seaweed, and kelp, making it a primary seafood distribution center on the northeastern coastline. In less than a kilometer's stretch of seafood street, there are over ten seafood shops of various sizes, offering fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Major catches include swordfish, red snapper, small squid, cuttlefish, lobster, and grouper, leading to the establishment of numerous seafood restaurants near the port. Additionally, Aodi Fishing Port has been equipped with facilities such as a fish market, freezing plant, gas station, and shipyard, making it fully functional and enabling visitors to genuinely experience the cultural charm of the fishing port, solidifying Aodi Fishing Port as a significant seafood distribution center on the northeastern coast.
