Banqiao Rural Park Introduction
Banciao Rural Park is located at the intersection of Wenhua Road and Shuangshi Road. Established by the Banciao District Agriculture Association in 1989, the park covers an area of approximately 8,400 square meters. It is the first recreational park in Taiwan themed around the rural scenery and pastoral landscapes from the early period of Taiwan's post-war recovery. The park features five zones: a traditional-style Sanheyuan (three-part courtyard), Changchun Garden Area, folk theater, Eight Sceneries of Rural Life, and a health walking path. There is also a Fude Temple, and the indoor exhibition hall displays furnishings from the early agricultural society, including a large kitchen, grandparent's hall, wooden bed room, and plowing tools. Outdoor, sculptures of ducks and chicks are placed by the pond and under the trees, creating a strong rural atmosphere. With rapid urban development, the rural landscapes and traditional Sanheyuan have gradually disappeared. The fast-developing Banciao is also a nostalgic place, particularly with the construction of a leisure park centered around rural scenery in the bustling urban area, allowing today’s "city dwellers" to reconnect with the past. Next to the park’s main entrance, there is a long corridor and a stage where many elderly people enjoy gathering to play chess and chat, while the stage occasionally screens old movies or presents traditional Taiwanese opera, immersing visitors in fond memories of the past.
