Banqiao Rural Park Introduction
Banciao Rural Park is located at the intersection of Wenhua Road and Shuangshi Road. Established by the Banciao Farmers' Association in 1989, it covers an area of approximately 8,400 square meters and is the first park in Taiwan themed around the rural scenery and agricultural landscape from the early post-war period. The park features five areas: a traditional three-sided courtyard, Changchun Garden, a folk theater, the Eight Scenic Spots of the Countryside, and a health trail. Additionally, there is a Fude Temple, and the indoor exhibition hall showcases displays from the early agricultural society, including a large kitchen, a grandmother's room, wooden bed bedrooms, and plowing tools. Statues of ducks and chicks are placed by the outdoor pond and under the trees, creating a rich rural ambiance. With rapid urban development, traditional rural and three-sided courtyard landscapes have gradually disappeared. The fast-developing Banciao is also a nostalgic place, particularly with the establishment of a leisure park centered around rural landscaping in the bustling metropolitan area, allowing today's "city bumpkins" to recognize past ways of life. Next to the park's main entrance, there is a long corridor and a stage where many elderly people enjoy gathering to play chess and chat. The stage occasionally screens old movies or hosts performances of traditional Taiwanese opera, immersing visitors in beautiful memories of the past.
