Sustainable Environment Education Center Introduction
In light of global warming, climate change, and energy conservation and carbon reduction, which have become pressing issues of common concern for the entire world and important policies for nations, the urgency and importance of environmental education rooted in childhood are keenly felt. In 2007, the Education Bureau of New Taipei City began preparing the "New Taipei City Sustainable Environmental Education Center," which officially opened on January 19, 2008. This center serves as a hub for the long-term promotion of sustainable environmental education, conservation, and research in New Taipei City. Located in the "Wazaiwei" area of New Taipei City, near the ferry terminal in Bali, it was originally the "Bali Left Bank Pavilion." Now, in collaboration with academic organizations, the center integrates environmental education with school curricula, providing students with hands-on environmental education materials. The center promotes environmental education in collaboration with elementary and junior high schools throughout New Taipei City, focusing on themes such as sustainable campuses, wetland ecology, low-carbon schools, marine environments, and ecological circulation. It guides students to implement energy conservation and carbon reduction in their daily lives, thus bringing environmental awareness into their homes and fostering a shared consensus on environmental protection among the public.
