Sustainable Environmental Education Center Introduction
In light of global warming, climate change, and energy conservation, which have become issues of worldwide concern and important national policies, the urgency and significance of incorporating environmental education from a young age has become evident. In 2007, the New Taipei City Government's Education Bureau began preparations for the "New Taipei City Sustainable Environmental Education Center," which officially opened on January 19, 2008. This center serves as a hub for promoting sustainable environmental education, conservation, and research in New Taipei City. Located at the "Waziwei" area, near the ferry terminal in Bali's nature reserve, the center was originally the "Bali Left Bank Club." It now collaborates with academic organizations to integrate environmental education with school curricula, providing on-site educational materials for students. The center promotes environmental education among elementary and junior high schools in various districts of New Taipei City, focusing on sustainable campuses, wetland ecology, low-carbon schools, marine environments, and ecological recycling. It aims to guide students in implementing energy-saving and carbon-reducing practices in their daily lives, fostering environmental awareness within families and promoting a collective consensus on environmental protection.
