Sustainable Environmental Education Center Introduction
In light of global warming, climate change, and energy conservation being topics of common interest worldwide and significant national policies, the urgency and importance of environmental education rooted from a young age is deeply felt. In 2007, the New Taipei City Government's Department of Education began preparing the "New Taipei City Sustainable Environmental Education Center," which officially opened on January 19, 2008, to serve as the hub for promoting sustainable environmental education, conservation, and research in New Taipei City. Located in the "Wazaiwei" area of New Taipei City, near the Ba Li Ferry Terminal in a natural reserve, it was originally the "Bali Left Bank Meeting Hall." Now, in collaboration with academic organizations, it integrates environmental education with school curricula, providing practical environmental education materials for students. The center combines initiatives from primary and secondary schools throughout New Taipei City to promote environmental education focused on sustainable campuses, wetland ecology, low-carbon schools, marine environments, and ecological circulation. It guides students to apply energy savings and carbon reduction in their daily lives and to bring environmental awareness into their families, promoting a consensus on environmental protection among the public.
