Guanyin Pavilion Introduction
Located on the mountain top behind Pinglin Junior High School, this was originally the site of a shrine during the Japanese colonial period, which was later transformed into the Guanyin Platform. There is a trail leading to it, and the Guanyin Platform stands 40 feet high, situated in a circular scenic square with a diameter of 21 meters. The statue of Guanyin is located in the center of the square, with a lotus pedestal that is approximately 11 meters tall, facing south towards the layers of mountains, symbolizing the long-standing prosperity of the people. It is not only a landmark in Pinglin but also the tallest bronze Guanyin statue in northern Taiwan. Following the trail to ascend and descend the mountain, the Guanyin Platform faces the "Siyuan Platform," in line with the Mazu Temple in Tea Village, providing protection for the tea community. Since visitors have already arrived here, it is worth taking a longer walk to exercise, and from this location, one can also see the North Yi Highway and the Xueshan Tunnel, offering an amazing view!
