Guanyin Pavilion Introduction
Located on the top of the mountain behind Pinglin Junior High School, this place was originally the site of a shrine during the Japanese colonial period, which was later transformed into Guanyin Terrace. There is a trail leading up to it, and Guanyin Terrace stands 40 feet high, in a circular landscape plaza with a diameter of 21 meters. The statue of Guanyin is situated in the center of the plaza, with a lotus base approximately 11 meters high, facing south towards the layers of mountains, symbolizing the long-standing heritage of the local people. It is not only a landmark of Pinglin but also the tallest bronze Guanyin statue in northern Taiwan. Following the trail from Guanyin Terrace down the mountain, it faces "Siyuan Terrace," which is in distant view of the Tea Town Mazu, providing protection for the tea farmers. Since tourists have already come here, it's a good idea to walk a bit more for some exercise, and from this location, you can also see the Northern Yi Highway and the Xueshan Tunnel with a fantastic view!
