Huliao Pond Introduction
A visit to Pinglin offers more than just buying tea and enjoying tea meals; you can also venture into the mountains, walk on suspension bridges, and admire the tooth-shaped terrain of Huliotan. The tooth-shaped terrain is formed due to the upward bending of layers caused by compression, and after being eroded by the Beishi River, the fragile shale breaks down, leaving behind jagged sandstone that resembles a dog's teeth. With the construction of the Feitsui Reservoir upstream on the Beishi River, many of the tooth-shaped formations have been submerged, but by approaching Huliotan and standing on the Huliotan suspension bridge, you can still marvel at the grandeur of the tooth-shaped terrain.
